Chief, which player around the league who may be considered underrated would you want to get because of his proven ability to get RBIs? Separate and apart from his ability to hit for power and average.

The one negative about this long innings is that Bart is getting close to his bedtime

Fortunately, he has his normal dinner time well before the game -- the early bird special -- around 4:30.

guys who put up consistently good ABs with runners on, but look for a pitch to drive in those ABs.

 

Robinson Cano.  Dustin Pedrioa.  Paul Goldschmidt.  Jose Bautista.  

 

What I don't like is guys who look to walk rather than look to hit, but I also don't like guys that get exited and expend the zone.

 

Get a pitch to hit, and hit it hard, whether that's the first pitch of the AB or the 10th. 

 

Those are the guys that win baseball games.  Over a season, it makes a difference.

Those have been four of the best players for several years, regardless of their RBI stats. Paul Goldschmidt, for example, isn't someone whose offensive value is under appreciated.

As frustrating as that is, it means we'll like be into their overworked bullpen by the 5th inning. That should open up some opportunities later in the game and tomorrow.
