Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Gameday is freaking out again. Miguel Cabrera just got out on the second pitch of his 4 pitch walk.
Blake Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Anyone got measurements on Sano's HR?Hard to estimate because from what I gather, the ball has yet to return to Earth.
Blake Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 He hit it 440 feet!Wasn't going to be outdone by Keplers bomb.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 4 pitch walk....I thought we didn't have to throw those anymore. Way to keep it old school, Hughsie.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 It is basically a long sprint that sucks everything out of you. The last leg is not the most fun time on the track. Yeah, my track coach just would not listen when I would tell him that the 400 was not a sprint and you had to pace yourself. I didn't like events that took me more than 15 seconds to complete.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 How about decibels? anyone know how loud that mother was? Green Day in concert loud, so not all the loud, but close.
hybridbear Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I had a feeling the Twins were going to lose this one when they were down 2-0... but now they're up 10-2!! Sano looks legit - maybe this is the year he hits 30-40 HRs!Me too. I had to go to a meeting at work when the Twins were down 2-0 and I was discouraged & expecting the Tigers to be getting the brooms out!.Imagine my surprise to return to my desk & open GameDay to see a 6-2 Twins lead! I tuned back in to the radio broadcast just after Buxton's bunt single. It was fun to hear the Twins put up a 5-spot in the 6th.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 lots of game left fellas...If we blow this we should be relegated to AAA....
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Hughes is at 96 pitches, and clearly tiring--is there a reason we're not using our 8 man bullpen?

KirbyDome89 Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I'm of the opinion Buxton should bunt more often if the defense is giving him first base.I don't care if Buxton has a .500 or .900 OPS. If you can get on base, do it.Because, as we just saw, Buxton should be able to take second almost at will.Wasn't a knock on the drag. It was an observation that its depressing that a bunt single is the only positive he has had at the plate this week.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Hughes is at 96 pitches, and clearly tiring--is there a reason we're not using our 8 man bullpen? Never should have gone out after that long inning. but, hey, they will win, so no one will remember this bad decision.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Shocked that you can make that statement with confidence...7 runs? no problem. Even if Dan San was in teh OF I'd feel good about that lead.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Holy moly, Gladden will not shut up about putting the ball on the ground.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 At that point, you get tunnel vision and you just tell yourself you're almost doneKinda like watching the Vikings last year after the bye week You can't have too much tunnel vision though. You need to watch your step or you'll slip in your own vomit when you hit the 300 meter mark.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Holy moly, Gladden will not shut up about putting the ball on the ground. As in it's a good thing?
big dog Verified Member Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Anyone got measurements on Sano's HR?The Detroit TV guys said 448, I think. They also said you know it's a long shot when the centerfielder turns around to watch it go.
