Game Thread Twins vs Tigers, 09/14, 6:10pm, Comerica Park

[Riverbrian]

Hey Diddle Diddle... Right down the Middle.

Duffey?

[jimmer]

Ah Duffey...a cornerstone of our rotation...

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Twins pitchers

Attacking the Strike Zone since 1995

How can an opposing team's hitters possibly prepare against such a pitching approach?

[Halsey Hall]

One rubber arm can't make it thru 4 innings.

[Riverbrian]

I knew the Tigers would come back, I just didn't think it'd TAKE SO LONG...

FTFY

[snepp]

So, um, yeah. I'm going to walk away again for a minute or two.

[USAFChief]

I think that last pitch was about half a cm off the exact middle of the plate.

Inner half, or outer half?

[USAFChief]

FTFY

Winner.

[twinsnorth49]

Inner half, or outer half?

Outer, as Bert has pointed out 97 times, Duffey hasn't pitched inside all night.

[Danchat]

Yeah, I'm thinking Duffey's long term position is as a reliever.

[twinsnorth49]

3 and 2/3rds? Mollie is about 3 innings too early.

[jimmer]

Yeah, I'm thinking Duffey's long term position is as a reliever.

I'm thinking his long term position is at the counter of a Burger King.  Maybe the fry station

So here I am, innocently flipping through the channels, and I see it... You're not fooling me, North. Isn't it convenient North chose today of all days to write a game thread??

Maybe he saw into the future, and knew the Twins would have a lead at one point in the game.... OR, maybe he needed anything to distract him from the World Cup of Hockey! Feelimg nervous about the Russians yet?

[USAFChief]

Yeah, I'm thinking Duffey's long term position is as a reliever.

[Pardon My Dinger]

Dozier: home run champ. It's a lock...is something I think is true but shouldn't havesaiditgolldangit!

[twinsnorth49]

Remember that lead we had in the top half?

Good times, good times my friends.

[wavedog]

Who saw that coming - took all of 5 minutes to lose that lead. Are we throwing games for money?

[twinsnorth49]

Sure, go ahead, light the last nice thing we have on fire .

[LaBombo]

Hopefully that doesn't happen this Saturday. It's the season finale for me writing game threads!

Worrying about letting down game thread Twins fans this season is like worrying if starving life raft survivors will be upset that the ribeyes aren't grass fed beef.

[USAFChief]

We've had some Saturday Afternoon games where I was basically replying to myself.

If I recall correctly, you set a personal record for "most likes" in one of those.

[twinsnorth49]

Rhetorical question, right?

[Platoon]

Tigers announcers can't believe the quality of pitches that hitters get these days, in their day throwing pitches like that to a guy like Dozier would result in a fine.

I keep watching it and thinking it, and not believing it. In his first AB he got one in and up also and missed it.. It seems odd. But good for Doze, they keep throwing him his pitch, and he just keeps hitting it.

The Game Thread, the last vestige of hope and high expectations.

It's kind of like working as a sole proprietor and scheduling meetings with yourself.

[Pardon My Dinger]

Just give him the MVP already!

Come on...please?!

[twinsnorth49]

Dozier....of course.

[Riverbrian]

RBI Doubles from Dozier are kinda boring now.

[wavedog]

Yep, that was sarcasm. Thought we might hold them to only 2 runs but figures we lost the lead. Nice to see Dozier come back and tie it!

[LaBombo]

Who saw that coming

Yes.

[Platoon]

Yes.

And your post likely ruined any chance we had for the least post in a thread........ Whoops
