Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 I know I'm not supposed to watch his shows anymore.....but Master of None is great so far, about 6 episodes in.Just wait until you get to the second season. It’s amazing. So smart and creative.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 (edited) On Apr 24th NatGeo TV start season 2 of its ‘Genius’ series, this one starring Antonio Banderas as Pablo Picasso. Edited April 8, 2018 by Craig Arko
jimmer Verified Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 So season two of Legion starts out weirder than season one. I like weird, but it might be getting too weird for me.

My wife had a similar take. I'm a bit apprehensive as well, but Noah Hawley has a pretty good track record so I'm reserving judgement on that.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I don't know if this show has ever been mentioned. It's not new but it's still current and season 4 will be released soon. Has anyone watched 'The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt'? Just started watching it ... love it! Am in the middle of season 2. Anyone else watching this, or have watched this awaiting for the next season to be available on Netflix? (It's a Netflix series.)

I was wondering about that. I liked the first season, but thought for season 2 they will need to be a little more coherent, because the total weirdness will start to wear thin. I don't have cable, so I won't be able to judge for myself until I can stream it on Hulu. Anyone watch Dark on Netflix? It was recommended to me as being a "darker" Stranger Things. I have only watched on episode, but it was pretty creepy.

We're 4 episodes in and I would say the second season hasn't lived up to the first. Then again, it was the last 2-3 episodes of Legion last year that made me love it. It'll be hard for this show to ever top this.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Lost in Space (Netflix) is better than expected. Killing Eve (BBC); marvelous gallows humor. Recommended. PseudoSABR 1
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I like lost in space, but I really don't need Dr Smith. There are plenty of other good stories to tell, and it's all about her too much for me. Way too much for me.

I still think of her hazing days from Daze and Confused.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 I agree. But that said, Paker Posey does play a pretty unlikable character. I still think of her hazing days from Daze and Confused.A friend told me that his father used to watch the original Lost In Space and complain in complete earnestness, "why don't they just shoot that son of a b-word?". Smith was one of the most unlikable characters ever - I mean, in a way I don't think the show's creators actually intended. They were going for broad comic villainy, but they ended up with implausible annoyance. Why indeed would the crew show a stowaway the slightest mercy, the second time he double-crossed them? I hope the new incarnation is an improvement. Doubtful I'll find out first-hand anytime soon.

D. Hocking Verified Member Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 (edited) Lost in Space (Netflix) is better than expected. This would be pretty amazing with today's special effects. (I have heard it is worth checking out, esp. after the first few episodes). [and yes - how in the hell did they not just shoot Smith in the original series.] http://www.thiel-a-vision.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/tybo2.jpg Edited April 30, 2018 by D. Hocking
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Just read a strong independent recommendation from Patton Oswalt to check out Cobra Kai on YouTube Red. Made by the 'Harold and Kumar' team.

Musk21 Community Moderator Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Just read a strong independent recommendation from Patton Oswalt to check out Cobra Kai on YouTube Red. Made by the 'Harold and Kumar' team. First 2 episodes are free and you could sign up for a free 30 day trial and watch the rest. Macchio/Zabka will not win any awards, but I really enjoyed the 1st 2 episodes and have heard it only gets better.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Even better than S1 so far. Also - fun fact, and news to me, I play basketball with the new guy, Raj sometimes. He’s very good. Vanimal46 1
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Silicon Valley season 5 was solid gold despite the absence of Erlich Bachman. Even if you just fast forward to the last episode wherein Richard dresses up in his celebratory pied piper costume, solid gold.

Yep, sometimes pointing and saying we won't tolerate that kind of talk is the best thing we can do. The people spouting that nonsense are probably beyond saving but others aren't.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 I'm generally a person who tries to separate the creator from their work because I don't want to judge what I experience based on the person behind the work. But a line of decency must be drawn in extreme cases. This is pretty obviously one of those cases. Squirrel and Mike Sixel 2

I don't know how I feel about this one tweet....but all the tweets added up is too much for me. I think. Same with athletes, where to draw the line. For some, it is peacefully protesting, and not hitting your children with a stick.....
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Not that I want to squelch this discussion, but before it goes too far down the political, racist, sleep aid discussion, it might be best to jump it to one of the other threads. But yeah, concur with all that’s been said on the subject. Mike Sixel 1
