Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 It's actually a pretty good speech so far...
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 It wouldn't do us any good. Once five innings are in, it's set, nothing is erased. That wasn't the case when I wrote the initial comment, but you are correct at this point. I tried.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 That wasn't the case when I wrote the initial comment, but you are correct at this point. I tried. How hard did you really try? Did you do a rain dance? Did you hire a cloud seeder? What, exactly, did you do to help this team?
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Up until last year, that was KLAW's biggest concern......flat balls (which are not as funny as schwetty balls, btw).I wonder if that is why Dozier can't get a cup to fit?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 What does this mean? Jake Marisnick: Marisnick reached on fielder's choice to catcher, Reed to second. both players reached, and there was a FC, and no error?Nah, this makes sense. Just because the fielder chooses to do something different don't mean he gets the out because of the choice. Nor would you want to score it a hit... But it is interesting set of questions tofigure out what makes sense in these situations.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Hey, I just passed 15,000 posts. I'm sure my employer is thrilled.....Better hope the Russians aren't hacking your computer.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 That wasn't the case when I wrote the initial comment, but you are correct at this point. I tried. I will say this, you gave up less runs than Berrios and Boshers...
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 How hard did you really try? Did you do a rain dance? Did you hire a cloud seeder? What, exactly, did you do to help this team? None of that primitive stuff. I asked the internet! Per usual, it let me down.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 On the bright side, Rockies rookie Dahl has tied the record for consecutive games with at least one hit to start a career with 17. Only other guy to do it did it more than 70 year ago. Another heralded prospect coming out the gate strong.Didn't we have someone get a hit in his first 12 games, get injured and never make it back?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Didn't we have someone get a hit in his first 12 games, get injured and never make it back? Third baseman from Australia....name is escaping me right now....and I'm not going to cheat and look it up...

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 Hey, I just passed 15,000 posts. I'm sure my employer is thrilled.....My employer yelled at me so my count has slowed down, hence only at 13,451.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Silver Lining Dept: Shaggy has found a level of drama he can handle. Looks pretty good!
Comrade Bork Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Glen Williams played 13 games, batted like .425 and had a 13 game hit streak
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Something Hughes??? Luke Hughes
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Glen Williams played 13 games, batted like .425 and had a 13 game hit streak ding, ding, ding...winner!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Well, at least we get to see one prospect pitching decently.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 That last out was kinda funny. Shaggy is zinging 97mph heaters knee high, so the batter crouched down really low and swung flat. Result: Flat line drive to Grossman. It sorta worked...
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Interesting Wiki on RATM https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rage_Against_the_Machine Lead vocalist/writer Zach de la Rocha was the spirit of the band's revolutionary image, but he quit in 2000 over disagreements over the band's direction. Interestingly, there's recent noise that Zach might appear with the band's new incarnation, Prophets of Rage http://www.alternativenation.net/zack-de-la-rocha-rage-against-the-machine-surprise/ I'd go to that.
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Kennys is having himself quite the game.
Comrade Bork Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I forgot all about Ryan Doumit
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 And another hit for Jorge Polanco.
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I forgot all about Ryan DoumitI think Kurt models his catching game after Ryan Doumit.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I think Kurt models his catching game after Ryan Doumit. Was Doumit unable to throw a runner out? It was a long time ago, I don't remember.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Was Doumit unable to throw a runner out? It was a long time ago, I don't remember. You think Kurt is bad....
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Was Doumit unable to throw a runner out? It was a long time ago, I don't remember.I just remember reading about his poor pitch framing numbers, and I don't think he was a great thrower either.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 My employer yelled at me so my count has slowed down, hence only at 13,451. I would think you would have more than enough compensation from your salary as a TD moderator that you would not need outside employment, getting a healthy salary and a share of the profits.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 this is gross. and now we're about to throw in a position player to pitch. ultimate show of failure
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 escobar about to state his case for late inning mop up man
