SirLoin Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Well, this would be a low leverage situation for Chargois....
Platoon Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 The Xmas eve blizzard of 1983. It was claimed we had -90 windchill. It's the only time I ever had frost bite. My folks lived on a farm, and everyone was there. My brother had split from his wife, and she was 13 miles down the road at her parents, he wanted to go see her at ten o clock and wants to be stopped. Off he went is his Maada convertible. No cell phones, so he was told to call when he got there. And of course he didn't, and me and another brother, two scoop shovels and a FWD Pontiac went out in the storm. A mile later we ran into a huge snow bank and no car, no brother. While standing out on the highway cursing his ignorance we saw a couple bouncing headlines. Two locals had went out for a 45 mile ride on their snowmobiles and found him walking on the highway. If not, he would have been toast. His car was stalled, and he was lost. Sheesh

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 Glad my tennis game lasted longer than anticipated. Not fun.
Jham Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Hey, Tonkin is pretty decent in no-leverage situations. Maybe he should have a beer or two during the early innings to relax.I can't figure out why Boshers was out of the league for 2 years... At lease we've got like a 2 hour break before our next game to regroup.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Hey, I just passed 15,000 posts. I'm sure my employer is thrilled.....
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Where is that stratomatic post? I can't do those every day. But if you'd rather read about a much better Twins game, you can find yesterday's game thread in the archives.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 BTW, Pandora radio is actually a little better lately. Seems like fewer commercials, and I'm digging the Rage Against the Machine station.
jimmer Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 On the bright side, Rockies rookie Dahl has tied the record for consecutive games with at least one hit to start a career with 17. Only other guy to do it did it more than 70 year ago. Another heralded prospect coming out the gate strong.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Waterloo time for Buddy Boshers. Looks like they're gonna let him take a righteous pounding for the team.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Not due until later. But we need it now!

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 But we need it now!It wouldn't do us any good. Once five innings are in, it's set, nothing is erased.
jimmer Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Picked him up on fantasy team right when he was called up, so it is on my brightside...Rockies are my NL team. I'll be at the Rockies games not this weekend but the following weekend.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Well, the CEO is currently addressing all 200,000 of us.....so he's kind of busy right now.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Shaggy! Good luck with Springer-Bregman-Altuve-Correa
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Let's see... who would I have in the bullpen rather than Boshers... Pat Light, Trevor Hildenberger, maybe even Ryan O'Rourke again.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 With that out, Shaggy's ERA drops to a tidy 45.00
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I believe he is only eligible to pitch in Game #2.Ah, the 26th roster spot, you say.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 With that out, Shaggy's ERA drops to a tidy 45.00 Now a much tidier 33.75!
Platoon Verified Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I used to coach in a men's baseball league. In a seeding game we got really rocked, and my third baseman was sent out there to finish. After he was just bombed in his first inning, he refused to go out again. Lol. I couldn't really blame him. But he coulda taken one for the team.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Keep your head down, maybe he won't notice your laptop! Well, I'm in Oregon, not MN, so if he can see me right now, we have some issues.....
