jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 So Phil Hughes is a power pitcher that depends on velocity to get guys out. He no longer has that velocity, and his other pitches are not particularly effective. On the other hand, he doesn't walk many guys... Except after a couple home runs.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 And still, not a single Blue Jay, this entire weekend, has had to so much as arch away from an inside pitch. You. can't. let. the. other. team. tee. off. on. you. with. no. fear. I think the Twins fear the Jays.
Comrade Bork Verified Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 At the game. Blue Jays fans sure liked those homeruns
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 why isn't FSN using a Bullpen cam yet? Seems there's a lot more Twins action out there than on the field.

To be fair, even if Dean and Hughes buzzed their chins with their "heaters" it'd have about the same impact as a down pillow swung by a pre-teen girl.
FunnyPenguin Provisional Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I bet this game is going to be comically lopsided unless something changes.... 17-1?
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Someone please explain to me...soon, another month maybe?...why the Twins rotation shouldn't be Santana, Gibson, Dufey, Berrios and May, (or Meyer) with Hugh's either on the DL or in the pen?
Guest Guests Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Nothing is understandable in this season. He needs to be hitting 8th. Given the bodies they are using today I'd go:NunezMauerParkArciaPlouffeGrossmanSuzukiDozierSantana. And then after looking at that, maybe it really just doesn't matter. What good is an analytics department if they can't understand that a sub .300 OBP makes for a bad lead-off hitter? Look at the Jays. Bautista and Donaldson are not traditional No. 1 and 2 batters, but they are likely to produce the most runs, so they bat first so they will get the most at bats.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Good grief. Is Phil an MLB pitcher or is Hughes throwing BP? DL or DFA Phil. Those are the choices at this point. I'm off to pressure wash.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 3 runs have scored and JUST NOW, FSN is showing the Twins defense graphic
Rosterman Verified Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Hey, it's a replay of last night's Saints game, only the Saints are being played by the Blue Jays. Do you think they will let Phil go 3 innings and 13 runs?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Yeah, that Bautista guy.......just don't bother, K? Enough.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Dozier hitting .204 with .291 obp just doesn't make sense leading off. I don't understand this somebody explain. Because, Mr. Smith, 2 + 2 = 5.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Well, glad I checked in, back to Canada-Finland gold medal intermission at the WHC.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 They should put one in his ribs on the first pitch. Not sure that's enough, Jose typically responds to those much the same way he's already playing.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Well, at least Bert had a good story about Ted Williams...

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 What's red and smells like blue paint?
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I can see why Terry has the GM job if he came up with the notion that Dozier is pull happy. I don't think anyone else has figured that out.
Guest Guests Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Bremer starting in with the "Mauer's not getting the calls he used to" stuff again. It would be great to reverse time and give him the knees, hips, back, shoulders, elbows, eyesight and muscles he used to have, also.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 What's red and smells like blue paint?Red paint? Logical but not very funny, I suppose.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Suzuki homers here and ties the game. Hahahahahaha ...

formerly33 Verified Member Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 What's red and smells like blue paint? You asked that question last year ... you'd think at least you could've switched it up a bit. What's blue and smells like red paint? Though of course, if I smelled like red paint, I'd be pretty blue ... In this case, would the answer be Always or blue paint? Oh wait ... I know the answer. Yes.
