There was nothing Boyer could do against Sano. 

 

He threw 5 Curves in a row and then threw an inside fastball and Sano was early on the fastball. 

 

Boyer really had nothing to offer there. That was not major league quality on the mound.

They were showing shots of people just sitting in the stands in the rain.  What possesses someone to just sit there in the rain when there's nothing going happening on the field (different from football) and there's plenty of protection (and beer still!!) in the concourses??
