  1. More sloppy baseball which seems to be frequent. I really hope Rocco is addressing this behind the scenes. This about the tenth time this year that we got thrown out because “of a perfect throw”. There is no excuse for Rosario on that play. You stop at second-going to third gains you practically nothing. Plus Sano was on deck
  2. I agree with this. If you also consider that just warming up represents a considerable amount of the pitches thrown it makes even more sense to get more mileage out of them once they are warmed up. Meanwhile the other reliever that would have used doesn’t do a thing that day
  3. I would only sign Gibby if he is willing to take #5 starter money
  4. Definitely hard to choose which is a great sign. I would Rogers, Garver then Kepler. Rogers came through in the first half when our bullpen was atrocious and bought time to get it fixed
  5. Interesting that Rocco pulled Smeltzer when things were going well and stuck with Thorpe when he really struggled. This club is never out of it and seem to know it
  6. I like Big Mike because he pounds the zone. No more pitchers afraid on the mound. My concern with Big Mike is health: I think his body is going to completely fall apart in the near future
  7. As TK always said - momentum is the next games starting pitcher. Let’s go Odo.
  8. Read my post. I didn’t blame them for any part of this season. I merely pointed out that they inherited a good young team. They have done good work with Sano but I believe the reason for improvement in the core is that they are approaching their prime with some experience under their belt
  9. Falvine inherited this entire lineup except Cron and Cruz. They also inherited Berrios, Rogers, Duffy and May (and Pressly) and Gibson if that is a positive. They have done some good things but have screwed up plenty. Let’s be careful about associating every part of this season as a credit to them
  10. Does anybody find it pertinent that of the hundreds of guys busted for PEDs they all had a story claiming to not have known? I think Andy Petite May have fessed up but that is it. To consider what they are saying as an excuse is silly
  11. Wise people judge others by what they do, not by what they say.
  12. Like all the other guys that are busted, he’s lying. Isn’t it amazing that all the guys that are suspended have some unfortunate story about how it happened. He was cheating and got caught. Don’t buy the story of him or any other cheater
  13. Cron has missed a couple of plays in the last few days that have cost us. More sloppy baseball by the Twins and it’s been like this for two months. I guess it is not changing
  14. One thing about the game was another sub par fielding day. Odo got in trouble after Cron missed the foul pop followed by Areaz not getting a glove on two grounders within his reach. I believe Cave had another blinger as well. They have to play better in the field
  15. Two seamers are going to move left to right. 4 seamers are pretty straight so the two seamer gives him a wrinkle
  16. They did just a few years ago when he started to go over his head. Before that he had a minimal windup. Thought it was odd at the time to make it more complicated
  17. Pretty much FO malpractice here. Might be a rabbit to be pulled out of the hat but a disappointing situation for a contending team
  18. I don’t think it is “indisputable “ that Rocco has been great. The Twins have played some really sloppy baseball over the last two months and it doesn’t seem to be changing. That reflects on the manager to some degree. I don’t blame him for the bullpen issues any more than I blamed Molly. Falvine gave both managers bad bullpens-can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear
  19. I like that Big Mike throws it over. I’m tired of watching pitchers that need 90 pitches to get to the 5th
  20. I think the Twins are going to have to get lucky with Hildenberger and o Rourke. Am fine giving Graterol a shot too. These are all long shots but this what the FO has left us with
  21. The plan isn’t working and they could have prevented all of this
  22. The point is that if we are calling up unproven prospects fromAA as our go to plan then someone screwed up both last winter and at the trade deadline. I hope Graterol is the next Nolan Ryan but it wouldn’t be Plan A for me
  23. Quite a plan when your brilliant FO has to rely on 20 year olds to win a pennant
