  1. The Twins have one of the best lineups ever. It really can’t be overstated how good that group will be Can we slow the roll a little here. So many variables involved going forward. This kind of hyperbole makes me doubt the credibility of TD
  2. Sorry. Whether it’s metrics or the eye test our middle infield defense stinks. Or if you prefer bottom of the league. There is no reason not to change this especially because Polanco would be an above average defensive second baseman
  3. Yea and I should be dating Kate Upton. To dismiss the financial implications of this signing by saying the Twins should spend more is ignoring history and reality
  4. I’m glad our defense at third will be better. Its a small thing compared to the middle infield where our defense stinks
  5. But there isn’t anything keeping them from pitching like Buerlie. It was the norm for most of baseball history
  6. Wow. Our pitching plan is now to pick up Detroit’s castoffs?
  7. As a fan this is fun. If this results in them not obtaining better pitching then it is a mistake. And no a good defensive 3rd baseman doesn’t solve the infield woes. It will be fun to watch!
  8. Perhaps this is the perfect excuse to speed up the game. Make every hitter abide by the pitchers pace. Mark Buerhle wasn’t having his signs stolen as it couldn’t happen in the brief second it took him from sign to delivery
  9. Let me clarify. I was referring to the advantage gained not how pervasive it is.
  10. I absolutely believe this cheating on par with PEDs. To know what pitch is coming is a huge advantage
  11. Well they are obviously not going to fix their rotation through FA so they better hang on to what they have. And the closer he gets to FA the harder it is going to be to sign him
  12. I’ve stated that I would pass. Like it or not there is a high probability that this ends up being dead money and with this ownership that has an effect. I would use the money to extend Berrios and Odo and sign Moreland to play first If you really want Donaldson call his agent and say you have 48 hours to take our offer. Otherwise they run the risk of getting nobody.
  13. Nope. I too also believe first base is more important defensively than conventional wisdom. There was a drop off from Mauer to Cron that was noticeable.
  14. I agree and that is where I am spending my money and prospects
  15. Defense at third base is not even close to the top of the Twins problems.
  16. Hard pass. If we are going to hit the farm system it needs to be for a good pitching prospect. I don’t understand the recent obsession on TD about acquiring a third baseman.
  17. My concern about the off season is that everyone thinks we can just trade for a good starter since we whiffed in free agency. I think that is WAY harder than people think. Teams that are trying aren’t trading good MLB pitching. That leaves you with teams that aren’t trying that have good pitchers they are willing to part with. I’m guessing that list is pretty short.
  18. I was hopeful of adding impact pitching just like everyone else. However you never know how well these contracts work out. May turn out to be a blessing in disguise (or not
  19. Iglesias is good with the glove and ok with the bat. The Twins score a bunch they can afford to put a good defensive player at the most important defensive position
  20. Baseball history is filled with slop balling lefties that pitch well at older ages. The real question is whether Hill will take the mound
  21. There is more than one way to improve. Sign José Iglesias to a cheap 2 year deal and take on Price and his entire contract along with another prospect. With Polanco at second Arreaz at third and Sano at first your infield defense improves substantially. Plus you’ve possibly improved the pitching and added a prospect all for a 3 year overpay that ends right when you need to pay Buxton / Sano
  22. Well falvine have had 2 playoff teams that completely surprised them both times
  23. I’ve been banging this drum for a while now. We cannot stay with a middle infield of Polanco and Arreaz for the next 6 years. I’m not worried about Arreaz at third either. With shifting etc he will soon be better than Sano
  24. Why trade for this guy? This makes no sense at all
