  1. He could do it but there are a couple of big ifs. First is better command of his pitches and second is having a legit change up
  2. Read my mind. Johan went from good to great once that change up was mastered. Here’s hoping.....
  3. Every year is different. Predicting is a fools errand so people should settle in and watch the games play out
  4. If he can’t stick at SS then he should have been traded. Second baseman are readily available and we have a better player in CF now
  5. I support RBs theory. Get your 13 best pitchers and use them whenever and however you need them to get outs. Maybe that means guys whose job is to piggyback and it likely means almost everyone has the conditioning to go multiple innings.
  6. Any metric that says Cave is an above average outfielder should be disregarded. He is not good in the field and should have been dealt in the off season if you are keeping Marwin
  7. The apology is meaningless. My opinions will be based on his actions not his words.
  8. I’m always leery of pitchers who struggle with command. There are plenty of guys who throw hard but fail in the majors
  9. I don’t want to sound negative but it sounds like he is a long shot to stick at SS
  10. My faith in Falvine just grew substantially. Keeping Graterol May end up working out for the best anyway
  11. He clearly has figured out how to use what he has.
  12. Or as Kirby used to say “Bad breaking balls are a gift from God”
  13. Great article. I think this illustrates that there is danger in counting on a mid season trade. There is just not much out there
  14. The biggest X factor is health. The Twins rotation was amazing healthy last season so their depth wasn’t tested. Sling together a few injuries this year and it could be ugly
  15. Plouffe interview was fantastic. Thoughtful and articulate I really appreciated his comments on the difficulty of playing SS in the big leagues.
  16. Love the nautical theme. I would take either
  17. The other factor in “development” is they all came of age when most players start getting it in the majors if they are going to get it. The credit being bestowed for development may be missplaced The other thing is that I don’t understand why you can’t support Falvine while appreciating the many great things TR did. Was he perfect? No but no front office is including Falvine.
  18. So the metrics don’t like him but he gets guys out. I think I’ll take him. Perhaps control is more important than velocity.
  19. Great article. Very interesting. Thanks for doing it.
  20. It’s more than that. Every starter except Cruz and Donaldson plus Berrios Duffy May Rogers and last year Gibson. I generally like what Falvine have done but I don’t understand why people feel the need to denigrate prior leaders to show their support for the current FO
  21. I like Polanco and believe he would be a great second baseman. He will not be a good fielding SS ever. Playing SS in the big leagues is really hard which is why so many guys start there and end up elsewhere. The Twins simply need to address this as this is not a long term solution
  22. This. Your ace pitching money is now playing 3rd base. Signing Donaldson is better than no signing but I would have given the money to Ryu
  23. Nope just saying what the reality is. I wish they would spend more but I also wish I could date Kate
