    Probably right. Part of this stems from the fact that I don’t want to count on Arreaz duplicating his rookie year

    I’ve always been a proponent of having Polanco play second. He would be an above average fielder and we keep the bat. Sign Iglesias for a year or two and you are now above average up the middle. Arreaz gets his at bats by playing multiple positions. He’s not great defensively so if he doesn’t hit at an above average level then he doesn’t have much value

    I saw an interesting theory posed and I can’t remember where. Had to be TD because that’s where I get my info. Anyway the idea is to approach all the arb eligible guys with fair extension offers. If they don’t take them trade them with team control when they have their highest value. Probably makes sense for Sano Rosario and Buxton

    2020 will be very interesting as the league will surely make adjustments. I believe Arreaz can as well. My biggest concern is that his defense is sub par which would be easier to take if we had a strong SS

    I would give up any prospects for Paddack except Graterol. This includes Lewis and Kirilloff

    Yes. He’s already had multiple concussions and a move to first will allow him to get 500 plus at bats. This will never happen behind the plate

    He has ace stuff but not ace command. If he improves his control he can be one of the best pitchers in baseball

    This. If he can’t stick at short his prospect value halves. If your assessment tells you he isn’t likely to stay at short trade him immediately for the best pitching deal you can get

    I was going to post this a while back but Souhan beat me to it. I find it interesting that the current FO and Ryan are pretty similar in their core values of highly valuing prospects and avoiding costly free agents. Of course they are very different in how they arrive at their decisions

    They have to start him and I would keep him in the big leagues. 30 starts of 4 innings is 120 innings. Maybe Smeltzer is his piggyback. Complete opposite

    Defense matters. The whole infield is sub par including Sano. I wanted a strong SS with Polanco moving to second. That would have made a considerable difference. I don’t know what you do with Arreaz. His bat is great but in the field not so much

    To me the story was Berrios. He is our #1 guy and he came out and pitched scared. I thought Gibson was out there for a while. For us to win the series we need Berrios to be a commanding presence and he was not last night

    You Tube TV is a great value for $50 a month. It includes every sports channel I want including the Big 10 network and Tennis Channel which are usually add ons. It took me 5 minutes to sign up and can even watch it at my cabin by streaming to my phone using my unlimited data and connecting the phone into the HDMI port on the TV

    All the quirkiness of baseball is true. Especially if Phil Cuzzi has the left field line

    I love that he is not afraid. He attacks the zone and puts pressure on the hitter. Gibson and Perez should take notice
