  1. The problem is these aren’t early results. This is basically what he has been for a while now. He’s a useful player but fairly easily replaceable at this point. Up until now it was always potential that people were excited about. He’s now CJ Cron with a bit more upside.
  2. I think he gets criticized too much for his fielding. It’s understood that he is not a gold glover. But to be competent at multiple different positions is really valuable especially catcher. While you don’t want hold to fill in long term as an in game sub he is pretty valuable.
  3. He hit like that all of last year. I really like Buck he tries so hard and never complains.
  4. I said it seems counterintuitive. I wasn’t disagreeing. It also why the the fresh concrete theory that people ridiculed is true. Concrete cures for several years by giving off water vapor. When you consider the massive amount of concrete poured in a new stadium it’s no wonder Target field was a launching pad early and now is not.
  5. I think it is a good sign that he is drawing some walks. His rookie year he seemed to wait the pitchers out and make them throw strikes. That went away and he has been a mess since. Like I have said repeatedly he will run into 30 cookies a year but that’s about it.
  6. It seems counterintuitive but Harmon always maintained that the ball carried better on a humid day.
  7. I hope he gets to 572 and no more.
  8. This is a fun idea. For sure we will see some of these guys this year.
  9. I really think Broxton should make the team. They need a legit backup CF Celestino needs to play everyday at AA. With the amount Rocco likes to rest guys a backup would play quite a bit.
  10. I think Jorge will be one of the best all around second baseman in the AL. He’s a proven hitter and I think after an adjustment period will be a top notch defender at second base.
  11. I don’t agree with the negative comment on Polanco. I didn’t like him at SS but he could be a really good second baseman.
  12. For a relatively small cost of $2.5 million I would sign Tyler Clippard
  13. This is not a playoff contending team (as in advancing in the playoffs). They are at least one arm short in the bullpen and their offense is feast or famine. Guess which one you get facing playoff pitching?
  14. Before the 2019 season I predicted the Twins offense would be feast or famine based on lots of power with low obp. Happily I was wrong. Unhappily I’m afraid my original prediction is coming true. I also think we are overplaying the strategy of bringing marginal pitchers and counting on Wes Johnson to fix them.
  15. A more practical consideration in modern baseball is that not that many guys bunt well enough to make it pay. When I guy is trying to bunt but can’t get it down you’ve really screwed yourself.
  16. Except now it is “take your time and throw as hard as you can. You are only going to be in there for a short time”.
  17. Kirill the thrill? Oh wait......
  18. This. He has swing and miss stuff he just needs to locate better and more consistently. Couldn’t care less about whether his fastball is at 95 or 97 just so it is located better.
  19. The Twins like most employers have protocols for Covid. They constitute a condition for employment whether anyone likes them or not. If you want to work for the Twins you follow their rules. I find it interesting that they are not being replaced.
  20. Of all the extension candidates this the one I would get done. He’s durable works hard and the Twins need all the starters they can get.
  21. We all realize this is a guy who barely made A+ and didn’t do much there. He’s likely two years from the bigs if he makes it at all.
  22. Left handed and breathing. Better give him a chance.
