  1. Since you have upgraded massively in the middle infield the second utility spot could go to Gordon.
  2. Love it. Finally a real shortstop and I think Polanco can be a plus defender at second. Much better scenario compared to signing some sub par utility guy.
  3. Hard pass. Not a great fit and for only one year.
  4. Disagree. Center field is important but great shortstops are the most valuable position players. And this is assuming he will hit at this level
  5. If Lewis can’t stick at SS then he isn’t nearly as valuable. I also worry that he won’t hit in the majors with that swing.
  6. You can’t hang on to players forever. Sometimes you have to decide. The biggest change is his body. He was skinny with the Twins and didn’t throw hard. Now he looks like a linebacker and throws hard.
  7. I think it is important to remember that Johan had no trade or limited trade clause that really tied the Twins hands.
  8. If cave is a lock I give up.
  9. Cory Provus who I love will be my best friend this summer.
  10. I think Cleveland is being smart. They know they would have a hard time contending this year so why lose a ton of money trying with the possibility of few / no fans. They will have a clean slate to start building again with low payroll and plenty of young players.
  11. I can’t help but think some teams are going reduce risk as much as possible for this season. I mean dumping any salary possible and not signing free agents. Lose as little money as possible this year and jump back into the game next year. The early signings might end up being huge overpays by spring training
  12. I like the front office and really like Wes Johnson who has done some good work with existing pitchers. However there is zero evidence that Falvine are some sort of pitching whisperers. This theme reminds me of stuff coming out of Washington DC. If it gets repeated often enough it becomes fact. There best pitching work has been to grab existing veterans such as Pineda etc.
  13. How much better is Hand than Mordicai Brown?
  14. I don’t get the comparison. Completely apples to oranges in every way. How many teams were analytically driven 15 years ago? What were the payroll restrictions? It was a bad signing but every FO whiffs sometimes including our current FO.
  15. There is no excess value in that contract that would justify giving away a top prospect. He wouldn’t get $20 million per in this open market.
  16. We will all be regretting this contract soon. I do already. The Twins are never going to hand out out multiple big free agent contracts so this is your guy for the next three years.
  17. I would think Romero has the best chance to be taken. He could easily be stashed in a bullpen to see if he could fulfill his potential.
  18. I really like the Pillar idea. That would allow you to trade Cave and let Rooker and Wade battle for the 5th spot.
  19. Don’t see a fit right now. Twins would want to be protected against injury and Buck has nowhere to go but up. He’s got no reason to sign a Twins friendly deal.
