  1. Again everyone is talking about he has to turn Buxton and Sano around. Falvine hires the hitting coach-that is his job. Why are we hanging this on the manager?
  2. I’m giving it until next July before the board is calling him a bum and wanting a new manager. Just a reminder that the hitting and pitching coaches last year were Falvines hand picked selections.
  3. I’m not impressed by Sano anymore either. If you swing for the fences every at bat and don’t care that you strike out 35% of the time I’m sure you will run into one every now and again
  4. He doesn’t have the requisite arm to play short and he knows it. Hence all the rushed throws and plays. His bat is excellent and he would be a great second baseman. Just put him in a spot to succeed
  5. Of course but basic fundamentals are what he was criticized for. I think there are plenty of problems within the organization and it’s a little too convenient to blame it all on Molitor
  6. I thought that was what the minor leagues were for? Mollies job was to win games
  7. I think the criticism of his bullpen management is overblown. With that bullpen you are going to always be on the edge of overuse because there were only a couple of guys that were any good. More accurate blame would be to the front office for not bringing in better pitchers
  8. Weren’t we just saying all the same things about Gardy? On the list of things that went wrong Molly was about 9th. There were many things outside his control including a bunch of free agents that were mutts. This fine in that we are reducing the number of scapegoats so Falvine can be the next ones out
  9. Well said. I’m glad I got to watch him play and appreciated what I was seeing.
  10. It is strange they aren’t trying some different things in the pen. They have a lot of work to do in this area.
  11. I’m surprised that you have that much personal information about Jeter. I want good players and will worry about leadership later. Your mileage may vary.
  12. I’m not talking about the clubhouse and whether they believe in him is kind of the question. Gimenez provides nothing for the future including leadership as he will be gone in a month. What is real is that Astudillo has a chance to be a catcher if given a chance
  13. I think the whole leadership thing is overblown. I would rather have Astudillo getting innings behind the plate yet Gimenez is playing frequently.
  14. Very strange. We need Gimenez like we need a hole in the head. I generally like Molly but this veteran security blanket thing is silly.
  15. I think the characterization that they inherited a mess is inaccurate. The farm system was highly ranked and had quickly supplied Buxton Sano Kepler Polanco and Berrios. There are plausible excuses to give the new FO but this isn’t one of them
  16. I like their drafts. Other than that I don’t see anything transformational. They given away substantial talent with their bizarre 40 man roster management
  17. I would rather have Rosario, Chargois and Rodriguez. So far I think managing the margins of the roster has basically been a negative grade for the FO
  18. Great info - thanks for contributing. Even healthy I have no interest in bringing Morrison back
  19. Has anyone seen reports on his fielding? Some were saying he wouldn’t stick at SS. That would obviously play into this
  20. The other option is to take one more year of arbitration then if he continues like extend him the QO and maybe get another year or draft pick
  21. With his bat which we still will enjoy at 2nd base. His arm is just not good enough to provide above average defense at the most critical spot on the diamond. He can be a plus fielder at 2nd and then we can go get a plus fielder at SS
  22. Polanco is not a starting SS on a winning team but is their best 2nd base option. I would slide him over and figure out a solution for SS
  23. Royce Lewis doesn’t even get a mention. We must be flush with hitters!
  24. In the “prospect community” you could find people that would give Mother Theresa a 35 for makeup. The guy has been good at every level eventually I’m excited to see what happens if he uses his change up more
