  1. Wow. Just wow. I’m starting to think that over all these years of people being mad at Terry Ryan and now Falvine we missed the real culprit-ownership. Jim Pohlad should just not do any public speaking.
  2. Yes the injuries, we all get it. I’ve been following the Twins since the late 60s and I will say that when he is healthy he is the best overall player in the history of the franchise. You don’t pay him and many fans like me will consider it the last straw. Wouldn’t it be ironic if he has good health going forward.
  3. Yikes. That rotation would equate to a 90 loss season.
  4. It will be a long season if we count on any of the pitchers listed as primary contributors.
  5. I think I will wait until the league sees him for a while before I make any conclusions.
  6. Any list without Jake Cave is incomplete. It’s amazing the number of players that could have been on the list.
  7. I’m other words if everything breaks near perfectly we will have a slightly above average rotation. I think I would bet the under.
  8. No. They literally need 15 new pitchers for next year. While they have some numbers in the high minors they are mostly back of the rotation types. Not to mention the fact that a certain number just won’t make it. the Maeda news was the last nail. We are now officially looking at 2023 or 24.
  9. The article should have been about Zach Littell.
  10. I think he needs some starts up here to see if his fastball heavy mix will work in the bigs. If it doesn’t then we have a problem because he doesn’t have much else.
  11. Well we need about 20 mlb competent pitchers for next year. Plenty of room for any of them if they show the ability.
  12. I don’t how others feel but I am getting concerned about Balazovic. He doesn’t seem to be gaining traction at AA and I believe he is 24 or 25. He’s been a prospect that has gotten a lot of attention and one that a lot were counting on to solve the pitching problem. Hopefully he doesn’t end up being the cautionary tale about prospect attrition.
  13. How do you buy low on the 13th ranked prospect in all of baseball?
  14. Excited about the bat to ball skills-I think this is what our lineup needs to offset all the swing for the fences guys. As far as position I sure hope the Twins find a spot of importance to excel. SS or CF preferably. Being mediocre at a bunch of positions is not what you should get for Berrios. As far as all the comps to other players I think all that stuff is overblown. All prospects are suspects until they aren’t.
  15. I like that he generally throws strikes. If he ends up being an effective #5 starter it would be a great bonus. He looked good against the Cards but we won’t know anything until the league sees him more.
  16. When will the statute of limitations run out on blaming Terry Ryan?
  17. With Scherzer off the market things should really get interesting for the Twins. There are enough teams with good prospects that we should get a haul.
  18. Again with the Falvey pitching whisperer bit? Our pitching staff is an abomination and he has developed exactly zero mlb pitchers. I do like the Gordon recognition
  19. All of these are light and mis guided. We need starting pitching prospects not relievers and SS that can’t stick at short. Berrios is the most valuable available trade piece at the deadline. If Berrios is traded the other team is going to need to hurt big time.
  20. I don’t see Jeffers or Garver rating that high. They are praised for their pitch framing but are pretty substandard traditional skills like blocking pitches and throwing.
  21. Obviously if all things are equal you want someone who throws harder but you can miss bats with movement and location as well. Berrios is a prime example. If he threw 97 instead of 93 he would be slightly better. If he had better command he would be an ace. Jorge Alcala isn’t going to get better by throwing harder he will get better by improving his control. If he doesn’t he won’t be any better than he is right now.
  22. This has become the most overrated factor ( was going to say crap) in modern baseball. There is so much more to effective pitching but people have one track minds on this topic. Here’s a wild thought: how about pitchers having an idea where they are throwing the ball?
  23. Should allow him to stick at shortstop. If I had a dollar for every time that gets tagged to a prospect I could buy the Twins. Players that can play legit SS in the big leagues are few and far between.
