  1. I don’t get the comparison. Completely apples to oranges in every way. How many teams were analytically driven 15 years ago? What were the payroll restrictions? It was a bad signing but every FO whiffs sometimes including our current FO.
  2. There is no excess value in that contract that would justify giving away a top prospect. He wouldn’t get $20 million per in this open market.
  3. We will all be regretting this contract soon. I do already. The Twins are never going to hand out out multiple big free agent contracts so this is your guy for the next three years.
  4. I would think Romero has the best chance to be taken. He could easily be stashed in a bullpen to see if he could fulfill his potential.
  5. I really like the Pillar idea. That would allow you to trade Cave and let Rooker and Wade battle for the 5th spot.
  6. Don’t see a fit right now. Twins would want to be protected against injury and Buck has nowhere to go but up. He’s got no reason to sign a Twins friendly deal.
  7. I would definitely give it a shot. The Twins need quality starting pitching and to assume the prospects are going to slide right in there is a fool’s errand. For that matter they need to bring Odo back as well.
  8. None of this is happening. The Twins will be cutting payroll not adding guys like Lindor. I just hope we spend enough to keep May Clippard and Cruz
  9. And not having to sign Donaldson to a contract we will regret. I would rather have Esco and all that money to sign a pitcher that would be far better than Duran especially since the Twins window might be closed before Duran ever throws a pitch in the show.
  10. It seems to me that our FO has a theory about certain pitching injuries. I think that is why they let Burdi and the dude that ended up withe Dodgers for a bit. Just my guess but perhaps Falvine thinks whatever is physically wrong makes him toast
  11. Miami would laugh at Rosario for any of them. He has no excess trade value and is likely to be non tendered.
  12. I assume this is sarcasm. Rosarios trade value is next to nothing. They will want young prospects but no way on Larnach.
  13. I think Josh is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I think the Twins will soon be regretting that contract.
  14. I think payroll will be reduced substantially. No income from this year and next year highly questionable. Rosario will need to be non-tendered as he has no excess trade value. No way they waste money on Adrianza or Gonzales when Gordon can at least fill in partially. As for the other choices I have no idea other than you do need to start incorporating some of the prospects that are ready. I wouldn’t be shocked if Sano is dealt. Anybody have buyers remorse on Josh Donaldson? I do.
  15. Actually he is quite easy to ignore.
  16. They somehow need to change the composition of the lineup to inject some OBP. And if Rocco is going to keep hooking starters after 5 innings they better upgrade the bullpen.
  17. Donaldson was a major disappointment. Wisler and Thielbar were nice stories but shouldn’t be considered foundation pieces going forward.
  18. I am concerned that the three younger players we locked into long term contracts all disappointed this year. And that is putting it nicely. I also think Rocco might need to be not so dogmatic about his decisions. Every time you replace a pitcher who is doing fine there is a substantial chance that guy doesn’t have it that day. Dusty out managed Rocco by a huge margin.
  19. Romo hasn’t been good lately but I don’t blame him on this one. Two duck farts and a ball four that was called a strike half the time is pretty rough. Polanco on the other hand .....
  20. Boy I hope to not see Cave in the playoffs. Congratulations to the Twins for surviving the fiasco that is the 2020 season.
  21. Same song over and over again. Thought he was finally getting the message last year but apparently not.
  22. Pretty hard to argue their success. I would give most credit to their selection of coaches especially Wes Johnson. The Maeda trade is looking great and the Cruz deal is already. Drafting remains to be seen
