Can we run for Brooks?

"Now running for Lee... Clemens."  "But Kody's already in the game." "You heard me."

Do you remember the pop up in the field last week I believe, where nobody touched it and it dropped therefore no error.  If the ball gets by you, it's not an error.

Don't think many younguns that game much anymore

It was a parents and grandparents game even in the 50s and 60s. I have forgotten the rules now. But I visited my just younger sister and her husband and they play it after coffee in the morning every day. They seem way older than me……

I mean, it’s cut and dry if a ball touches a glove. It’s simply not a rule that a fielder has to touch the ball for it to be an error.

It's not cut and dried. The unofficial  official rule of thumb is, a play not made requiring "ordinary effort" is an error.

Another unofficial official rule of thumb is, not touched= no error.

These are the guidelines MLB gives to official scorers.

So much for the Gomez doubters

I like Gomez, he almost always figures his way out. He just doesn’t make it easy on himself. Or us.

I think the SS did an extremely good job of not touching it. Against all odds. One of the better I’ve seen.
