  1. Like others I’m moderately surprised that the Twins are (mathematically) relevant at Memorial Day. So far, I’m enjoying this season more than I would have thought. My perception is that Shelton mostly pulls the right levers (given what the FO gives him to work with) and the team may have a tendency to more aggressive on the base paths. Overall more entertaining than I would have guessed. FWIW I expect things to normalize and other Central teams to pick it up. Count me in the minority I guess of people not wanting to see Ryan get traded.
  2. Astros Fan: My Bullpen Sucks! Twins Fan: Hold my beer!
  3. Can we be done with Topa now? His WHIP is hovering around 2.00.
  4. Yeah that was strange. Bell doesn’t change directions easily 😆
  5. Morny adding nothing. I’d rather listen to on-field interviews.
  6. Enough of Morny. He occasionally adds something useful, but talks incessantly.
  7. Me too. It would be awesome if he eventually became a reliable, inexpensive, late innings guy. Like Varland maybe.
  8. Regardless of the outcome of this game, I cannot fathom why the Twins sign retreads like Garcia. Zero upside. There’s got to be guys in the system who might have a future with the team.
  9. Call me old (because I am) but as a fan, actually watching the game, I do not want to have to be studying obscure metrics to feel like I need them to appreciate or be entertained by what I’m seeing. RBI is (yes a flawed) measure of a player doing the basic thing needed for a team to score runs. I derive pleasure and entertainment from a baseball team executing basics to accumulate runs to hopefully win a game. With my eyes, over the course of many, many seasons, I watched players that can consistently get it done, and others who can’t. So, yeah, RBI matters a lot to me. YMMV
  10. Larnach has been used well (appropriately?) and responded this season.
  11. Classic zero-upside, DH only “veteran” signing. Just another flawed approach to roster building for this organization. Only hope was that he started the season hot and would appeal in trade to some competitive team at the deadline. But as recently as last season, “starting out hot”doesn’t appear to apply to Bell. So I ask, why make that signing?
  12. Just the kind of thing we will be used to with this 72-win team.
  13. There’s really nothing left to say about (or see from) Wallner. If he’s not sent down for a reset in the next few days, I don’t get it. Problem is, we’ve got too many guys like that who probably shouldn’t be on our ML roster.
  14. I don’t think we’ll have “Wheels” Wallner to worry about much longer. He’s bringing nothing, night after night.
  15. It’s not a bad idea to try Sim in the bullpen, but I wouldn’t automatically expect him to be successful there. He just can’t put guys away, whether it’s 1st or 2nd time through the order.
