It’s amazing how Atlanta just will not challenge on balls and strikes. I don’t get it, but I’m relatively happy they don’t because it would’ve impacted this game I think.

Great all-around game. Fuindy was pretty unlucky due to some questionable defense by the Twins. Great effort by Gomez to get his third saving in a row without walking anybody this time! Need to go out to San Diego and win the series against the Padres.

Didn’t realize how much I enjoy following the game threads during an actual game…..until it was gone during the last couple of innings of this game. It’s especially frustrating when the Twins are doing well and something unexpected like sweeping the Braves!

Yeah…. some serious brain farts by 2-3 Twins on defense during that top of the sixth. But they played through it and came out on top! Just keep it going in San Diego!

Yes, they could have probably overturned 7 pitches that were called strikes.... Though on the radio Atteberry or Gladden stated that they had asked  Weiss about this and he stated that he didn't think the batters knew the strike zone well enough to challenge, but that he trusted his catchers to challenge when needed.

San Diegan here. Hope to see some Twins roaming the area on Thursday or Friday, since I live near the downtown area where they stay. It will be a packed Petco Park this weekend. I really like seeing the games and feel fortunate to be able to walk to games to see them every 2 years....and no rainouts in SD ☀️

Actually Lewis wasn't that bad at third, he was moved after being sent down after struggling at the plate.  But both players were so bad at their positions the moves should have been made before the season.  Changing to positions that they have never played before, there is a going to be a learning curve.  And to expect otherwise is not reasonable.  They have been two of our best hitters the last couple of months so you have to take the good with the misplays.

According to the metrics he was -3 OAA at 3B over 37 games, so, yes he was that bad at 3B. And, at least to me, the eye test confirmed this.

He is -2 OAA in 51 games at 1B. Horrible? Yes, but that comes from learning a new position on the fly. Plays like the one today - he should have went to the base instead of going for the ball - contribute to that, but overall the eye test tells me he'll be at least average at 1B, if not better due to his athleticism.

According to DRS, Lewis is 0 at third base, certainly not a disaster. Average. Also at first, he's +1. These numbers are through yesterday
