howeda7 Verified Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago The 2027 bullpen sets up decently: RH: Hoffman, Morris, Gomez and two or three of Zebby Mathews, Sands, Raya, Culpepper, Anderson, Adams, Festa (still might like to add a FA) LH: Banda, Funderburk and perhaps Rojas (I think he should stay a starter) Hawkeye Bean Counter and Permanent Twins Fan 2

Permanent Twins Fan Verified Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago This was a pretty good deadline. It wasn't flashy, but they got a right handed reliever, a left-handed reliever, and a starting pitcher. USAFChief 1

(not this deal, but the fact their SP depth in the minors is "suspect". Rojas is the number 2 SP prospect......) I would have never stopped doing what was working before. Trading for good and controllable Lopez, Gray, Maeda, Odorizzi types. Easily a better bet than counting on prospects and a better value than shopping for third and fourth tier free agents. That is without doubt what I want them to do this offseason. Mike Sixel and Danchat 2

strumdatjag Verified Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago In the Jeff Hoffman trade, the Twins got some cash to cover his salary and gave up some international pool money (they got some in a previous trade).

AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Ok, this deal makes the deadline make sense. Find a way to call up Jenkins and Culpepper, hope Kremer turns things around a bit, and let’s make a run at a playoff spot Saxophone Joe, USAFChief, Cory Engelhardt and 1 other 4
Saxophone Joe Verified Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Dan Hayes said he's heard no more moves incoming. What does this mean for Trevor Larnach?🤗 Cory Engelhardt and Hawkeye Bean Counter 2
SS MagicMark Verified Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I guess we can use the Jeffers comp pick to replace Hill. Just win! Cory Engelhardt 1

thelanges5 Verified Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Bobby N: The trade deadline has passed and the Twins are done. They added relievers Jeff Hoffman, A.J. Minter and Tommy Nance, and starter Dean Kremer. https://www.startribune.com/minnesota-twins-mlb-trade-deadline-live-updates-rumors-bullpen-pitcher-trevor-larnach-news/601872870 Permanent Twins Fan, Cory Engelhardt and USAFChief 3

howeda7 Verified Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Surprised they didn't trade Jackson. But I'd still demote Gray and Roden for Culpepper and Jenkins tonight. HarmonK03 1

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago This feels like a fan GM deadline "our bullpen sucks, and we are first in run scoring" deadline......(I know, they also got a starter, we'll see.....). Unless they call up an OF and Culpeper (or is it Culpepper), I don't see how this O and D is good enough. Really bummed Bell is still here, and Trevor isn't the full time DH. Danchat, ashbury, Linus and 2 others 5
Hawkeye Bean Counter Verified Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Im ok with the deadline. Not great but if only losing Hill I am ok. I also do think keeping Larnach will be good for the Twins. We can effectively replace Dasan Hill with the QO pick in the next draft as long as Jeffers doesn't get injured and continues to be strong down the stretch. Cory Engelhardt 1
