Paredes warming up in the bullpen.  I'm not so sure about this going from a starter to the closer.

It's still odd they didn't use him at all this series, he hasn't pitched in over a week at this point, it was weird they didn't send him in to piggyback ober, and it's odd they hadn't used him this series in any way.

8 of 9 series wins is how you get back into the mix

One way, truly. The slow but consistent way.

I still like the 12-15 game winning streak better. Then the slow way. Or this season, and most seasons, 12-15 games above .500 and just play .500 ball, and you are probably in the playoffs.

We will take 2 out of 3 all the time!

Yes! If you can do that all season, without the losing streaks, you probably will have the best season record that year in MLB at 108-54! Looks way better than 2-1.

I have no idea what they charge for something like this.  Do you mind my asking?

Not sure Martin saw that until it hit his glove. We will take it!

I fell to the ground in relief/exhaustion when he caught it. I thought at first that was a homer, too. Dramatic until the end, per usual. Ha!

Our starters gave length including Ober who went into the fifth.  There wasn't a lot of need for relievers this weekend.  They played Friday perfectly, let Ober go as long as he could and let the game dictate who comes in next.  Piggybacking negates all of this and doesn't work.

On Ober's day, they could've at least sent him out for the two inning role rather than Rojas. Rojas had just been recalled while it would've been the day Paredes started had Ober not been reactivated, so it would've made sense to let him get some work so he's not resting too long. Now it's been over a week AND we have the all star break.

Piggybacking turns human managers into beep boop robots. The majority opinion last year was hating Baldelli’s spreadsheet like decision making. I’m happy that Shelton is giving his starters a long leash all season.
