I am glad Outman is having a good game, but one game should not dictate more playing time.  He has done nothing to earn it, this is what a bench player should do, help the team when you get a chance.  Morny stating that Shelton said he might get more time with Wallner going down, then I want Wallner back over Outman.

Martins base running reminds me of Eddie Rosario ,   ya never knew what would happen ,   hit -field -speedy- all good but on base I.Q.  COMICAL ,  IF HE CAN FIGURE THAT OUT  MIGHT HAVE A CAREER    !

Austin Martin just keeps getting on base, doesn't he? I've been a fan for a while, glad to see him having a good start to the season.

I hope Mr. Wallner stays in AAA for a looong time.

Got to be Outmans best day in a twins uniform  ...

No last year he and his twin brother both hit 2 run home runs in the same game.

He's peaked.  DFA him immeadiately after this game.

You could say that about Lewis also.

They sent Wallner down, his BA was really no worse than Lewis; I wonder if his glove was part of the reason.

A little premature perhaps but the Twins are starting to get some of these young pitchers on their game.

Matthews and Rojas looked tough today.

Take the W. Matthews needed an outing like today but yeah probably premature. That Miami lineup was garbage.

Rojas needs to stop bleeding baserunners.

Wait, you're telling me a WHIP over 2 isn't sustainable?

I do like seeing more Ks than IP though.  For better or worse, he's been making it interesting.  Something to build on for sure

Rojas has really good stuff - he also can't hit the side of a barn.

Why more stadiums don't have ads for barns behind home plate I'll never know. They certainly should in Dyersville.

I guess based on what Wallner did in the past for the Twins and disregarding anything Outman ever did in his rookie year with the Dodgers that might make some sense. As much as it pains me to say, Outman is a better choice for a roster spot between the two players. Why? Outman can run and field. Currently, Outman and Wallner have a similar BB rate and (hard to believe) Wallner strikes out at a greater pace. Wallner is the worst outfielder in baseball, so there is that too. While I am not a big fan of James Outman and wanted Matt Wallner to hit .230 with 40 HR this year as a pure DH, the reality has played out differently.

Hopefully Big Matt gets a reset, but it seems like he is a candidate for a new scene. I'm not sure what the Twins can get for him. Think of the guys who were good DH hitters and how much their value declined when they were put into the field. All of Wallner, Larnach, Bell, Caratini, and perhaps even adding Lewis and Keaschall are less than stellar defenders. Larnach has made some improvement this year, which must be noted. That is quite a pile of DH fellows. It also points to Falvey's skills in building a roster.

Let us all hope that either of Emmanuel Rodriguez or Walker Jenkins successfully fit in the lineup by July. Better yet, both.
