27 games complete. Multiply by 6 to get full season projections.

72-90

72 is generous, we haven’t played many really good teams yet in their schedule. We might get lucky to get to 65 wins

If that person is Marco Raya instead of Taylor Rogers who cares? Marco Raya is at least 23 years old with a future.

If we compare the two 2026 season thus far, Rogers currently has a 7.27 ERA and a 1.96 WHIP.  Not good and is DFA worthy.  Your answer in Raya is currently at a 10.32 ERA/2.12 WHIP in St. Paul.  Hardly worth the promotion.  You could argue that they could have released Banda or Rogers and kept Rojas.  I'm going to hold onto hope and suggest that they got to see Rojas, seen some changes that he needs to work on from his one outing, and sent him back to St. Paul with the idea that he will rejoin the team in the near future.

The Twins big signing to replace anyone in the bullpen is currently Christian Roa, who they claimed off of waivers from the Astros.  He currently has a 5.19 ERA, 1.96 WHIP, and 6.73 FIP for those who like advanced stats.  Doesn't appear he is much better than anyone currently in the bullpen.

As much as we want wholesale changes, as @ashbury pointed out, the overall roster construction just doesn't lend to much in immediate relief.  We are demanding that we convert all of these starters to relievers and that takes time as well.  Unfortunately, we have to live with what we see for the immediate future and hope that when the time comes, the youngsters are ready to go.

We need high-leverage RPs rather than relying on low- to medium-leverage RPs. After causing this humongous hole, they created, had all off-season to find them & bring them in via in-house, trade & even FA. But again, they put a bandage on a gaping wound. Thinking they solved the problem.

A lot of talk about this guy or that guy,but nothing about the one guy that needs to be talked about. Where has Buxton been? When a bench player named Gray has double the RBI of a everyday player thats a problem. It maybe is time to move him in the lineup to the bottom third. Everyday at the start of the game all you hear from Cory is this the day he gets his first leadoff HR. Who really cares if he does or doesn't,we should care that he is not getting it done when he is at bat with ducks on the pond and has failed all year.

Needs to release Outman & Clemens to get things started.

And option or jettison Wallner and his endless parade of strikeouts and ultra low batting average.

Releasing dudes that offend us is the easy part.  Who do they get replaced by?  Simply calling up guys who aren't ready or never were or never will be is not a solution.  Outman for ERod is the only combination that makes any sense with this depleted roster.

Agreed. Emma for Outman is a start.

My comment about Outman & Clemens being DFA’d was referring to “an order of things” taking place from the GM before Rogers is potentially released per the previous commenter.

Kriedler’s defense - athleticism in the infield and outfield make him a potential replacement candidate of Clemens. Due to continuity & lack of 1B options, it’s difficult to cut ties with Clemens ……… UNLESS the current win/loss swoon continues …….. at some point changes will be made for just change sake.

Rojas or Klein or like could replace any one of 2-3 guys in current PEN, if organization deems that a move needs to be made. There are options.

What is the alternative/solution if Clemens rolls an ankle or pulls a hamstring? Cant punt! There have to be some other options or another path - same with Rogers or anyone else on the roster.

If one was a fan or part of an opposing AL Central Team’s organization ………. what would that individual’s viewpoints be with the Twins playing Kody Clemens at 1B 50+% of the time? Honestly, I would imagine there must be some snickering involved.

Do the math when they were 11-10 and that projects to 85 wins…….. it’s April 26th.

If Lewis hits a bit better - Lee continues to be average - they exchange guys playing RF with Rodriguez - Keaschall (maybe goes down for 3 weeks or so?) gets back to “just average” - Buxton is just himself (bunch of K’s - 30 HR - decent CF) ……….

Would really like to see Culpepper playing SS and Lee playing 2B by first week in May UNLESS something seriously shifts with Keaschall.

Seems there are roster moves to be made that give a glimmer of hope for a .500 for season.

It's kind of remarkable that there is absolutely no performance  improvement whatsoever from Lee, Lewis, or Wallner.  I mean flat line.  You might think through sheer dumb luck the Twins might stumble onto something good - but nope.  Whether they want to or not, at some point they're going to have to tear this thing down to the studs and play the kids.

It’s growing pains!!!

For the 11th oldest batting roster among the 30 MLB teams…and the oldest in their division. Probably all late bloomers, thankfully!!

Does Jeremy Zoll have the cajones to release Taylor Rogers?

Rogers, Banda, Funderburk.....we can start a list if we want.

And even then, why would they call up E-Rod to sit on the bench

Very true.  I was responding to someone's plea to cut Outman.  If I were in charge, I would call up ERod to replace Wallner who I would send down to AAA for some kind of tuneup.  Outman's role limits the harm he has done so far at the plate.  Wallner's not very suited as a backup, and if his bat isn't producing he doesn't even have the other tools that Outman does.

Choke Artists to this game = 0 for 3 - Martin (2 K's) & Bell, 0 for 4 - Wallner & Lee.

Today's Bullpen Three Stooges = Rogers, Orze and Acton.

First Inning: Buxton singles (on a ground ball to 2B??) on a slow slider, down and in, and advances to 2B on an Tampa error.  Runner on 2B and ZERO OUTS.  All that is needed from Martin is: a hit, a walk, a right side ground out or a fly ball to RF.  So he strikes out on ball #2 of 5 pitches - a slider down and in.  The next two batters fly out.  If Buxton had gotten to 3B, with no outs he could have scored a run via SF.

Second inning: With 1 out, Keaschall singles.  After Wallner STRIKES OUT on a slider low and away and outside the strike zone, Keaschall steals 2B, placing him in scoring position with 2 outs and Lewis at the plate. Lewis strikes out on a changeup low and outside.

Third inning: After strikeouts from Lee & Buxton, Martin and Bell both walk placing a runner at 2B with 2 outs.  Jeffers grounds out to SS to end the inning.

Fifth inning: With 1 out, Lee reaches on an error and advances to 2B on a Buxton single. After swinging and missing at a low inside slider (which was a ball) and a changeup down and away, the pitcher gets strike 3 by climbing the ladder with a hanging slider. Vell then harmlessly grounds into a forceout SS to 2B.  End of inning.

Sorry,

Commentary on the rest of the game was lost due to Google Chrome going down.

The Twins are actually 22nd in bullpen ERA, which is a little inflated by their bad defense.

It's also inflated by them using early off days to try to get "starter" innings from Abel in relief the first time through the rotation.

By my math, Abel single-handedly increased the team's bullpen ERA by 0.36 in getting rocked in one game.

(Conversely, calling that game a relief outing lets Abel claim a 2.12 ERA as a starter. 😀)
