Flotsam on a 40 man roster should consist of no more than 3-5 players.

One could argue that 50% of the Twins 40 man is flotsam, including the entire bullpen.

Yup, by picking cherries one could make the argument tto get rid of every player

You don't get better when your best players play for other teams

I think it's a case of fans not feeling like the team is better.

On the field it can be a different story. Surprising how often it's a different story. There are no guarantees in anything.

When the Red Sox traded Devers to the Giants. The Giants were 41-30 and the Red Sox were 36-36.

After the trade: The Giants were 40-51 and the Red Sox were 56-37.

Looking at this I would say the collapse started in June.

The collapse started when Lopez went down and Ober pitched injured and the Twins did not have the caliber of backups to replace a Cy Young contending pitcher and one that was touted as such on this site.

I can cite countless examples.  Bert Blylevin traded to the Rangers.  Rod Carew traded to the Rangers.  Johan Santana to the Mets.  I won't even bring up Lou Brock.  How about Frank Robinson for Milt Pappas.  I'll even cross sports.  KG.  Randy Moss.  Trading your stars just makes your team unwatchable.  Pass.

Oh alright, and you enjoyed watching the 2025 Twins? Because I sure didn't.

Sounds like someone is attributing opinions to someone without them ever being expressed by the person

Sounds like I stated my opinion, not anyone else's. Sorry that bothers you.

You stating that this was not a dream team would be your opinion  Saying that Falvey’s  opinion was that  this was a dream team is inventing attributes to rip on people for what they did not say.

That is easy to say, but all 30 teams are building BPs and the track record says it is not that easy except in theory.  What we need is what the Dodgers did last series - let the SP go deep and even a full nine once in a while.

the days of SPs going deep or a full nine more than once in a blue moon are long gone.  sadly

A few years ago we said that about stolen bases.  The Dodgers just completed their last series with Snell going 8 in game one, Yamamato going 9 in game 2, Glasnow 5.2 in game three and Ohtani going 6 in game 4.  Baseball is a copycat league and the Dodgers might have triggered a new trend.

But then we discussed that it actually happens often, especially in baseball. So...I don't even know what we're talking about anymore.

Lurch at First -  the spirit of Sano.

I'd like to think he'd be fine at 1st base. He's an average to slightly below average RF in my opinion

Sounds like maybe you need a refresher on the meaning of “sounds like” (speculative, an opinion) and “is” (stating a fact).

Coming from the person that initiated the sounds like phrase, your comment is pretty funny.

I'll take that bet. Those are all top pitchers....you want anyone outside Ryan or Lopez going more than 6 innings on this staff? And this is a decent staff compared to many.....

Glad you appreciate it. And much as I’d like to think I originated that particular turn of phrase, I’m pretty sure I’m not the first one to use it.

So did we get better last year by trading good players?
