Twins batters only struck out four times. Effective relief pitching. Better (but still not excellent) defense than yesterday. And Brooks Lee breaking his slump. Lots to like. Buck back soon. Taj pitching tonight, good luck!

I hope the headline tomorrow isn't "Kriske creamed."

I thought the same thing ....

He got the job done , better than Davis would have ...

Twins win the series , back home against Royals  ...

The bats are hot right now , I hope it continues and the players realize their jobs on on the line for an audition for next year ...

We’ll look back at this game during the parade, Peter!

Does Keashall get the key to the city, or the state?

Personally I think the light is just a little dim upstairs and the defensive skills have always been subpar.  I think decent bat skills and some speed were good enough at the college and low level minors to make Toronto and the Twins think they could fix the defensive skills.   Like Julien -  it just doesn't appear to be there.  Maybe he can hit enough to continue to get better at the MLB level,  but in all reality with his play yesterday he was giving up runs left and right.  That just kills the pitching side which needs every out.  We are not working with a full pitching squad.

Personally I think the light is just a little dim upstairs and the defensive skills have always been subpar--  Yes Sir -  he was way Over rated when Drafted,  Twins werent to bright taking him from Toronto in that Trade, -  didnt like it then for Berrios

There are currently only 6 teams with winning records against >.500 teams, and two of them are only a game above .500.  No one in the NL West is, not even the Dodgers.  It's a really tough threshold to reach

And yet, it’s has a VERY strong correlation to teams that do well in the postseason.

And that’s the point.

Define VERY strong correlation

4 of the last 8 World Series participants had losing records against >.500 teams in the regular season, including 2 champs

We're writing off 2025 so quick??

Just get to at least 500, win some series (Such as the Yankees at home), get Lopez going, don't dump Ryan and Lopez next year, ...and I will be satisfied...

Thats a very nice day for Taj.  It seems like most things seems  to be going pretty well right now.  Batters at the MLB doing well,  the prospects doing well,  the traded for players doing pretty good.  Roden still a question mark but at least a decent day today.

Anyone know what Taj's velocity was today and whether the stuff looked better?

Who's this Roden kid?

Came back as one of the players in the Varland trade.

A strong hitter in the minors.  Hit .310 in 2023 at AA and .314 at AAA in 2024.  Made the Blue Jays roster out of spring training hitting .407 with 220wRC+.  Struggled in ~40 games with the Blue Jays and was optioned back to AAA.  Has since hit .331 in AAA before coming over to the Twins.  Above average speed.  Low K rate and high walk rate in the minors.  We will if he can get comfortable at the MLB level.  Today was a big stride.

I miss Varland...that one will stick with me for awhile..a fellow Minnesotan born/bred in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.. should get a bit more respect..especially when there was no rationale for it..

Just need him to gain confidence.  let him know to not put pressure on himself and just go out there and hit.
