I'm done with Larnach, and Bader can field, and no one else is likely ready unless they push GG, which they won't. SF Twins Fan 1

He's number 12 so that's pretty for Bader. I would have preferred an arm to a bat though at 12. Wow, is it even legal to trade a 16-year-old?!?!? Even saying that makes me feel like I'm going to be put on an FBI watch list. Mike Sixel, Dman, Cory Engelhardt and 3 others 4 2

Yeah I have been eating crow for while now on Bader. I expected very little and he ended up being one of my favorite guys to watch. LA Vikes Fan and nicksaviking 2
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 This is what Fangraphs wrote last year about Mendez: Mendez came over from Milwaukee along with Robert Moore. He had an exciting contact and frame projection combo as a very young prospect, but he’s stiffened up as he’s matured and I’ve grown less confident that he’ll hit. Dman 1

He's number 12 so that's pretty good for Bader. I would have preferred an arm to a bat though at 12. Villario is 6' 2" 175 lbs as 16 year old. 12.2 SO/9. He is a lotto ticket but he definitely has some upside. Mendez is trending towards solid major leaguer. The bat looks good enough, power is gradually getting better. Speed is average, Hit 50 Power: 40 (hopefully trending up) Run:50 Arm is is a 50, defense 45. Overall 45 prospect, pretty solid for Bader with Villario on top. My guess is Villario is someone the Twins had been tracking for a while. SF Twins Fan, Dman, LA Vikes Fan and 1 other 4

Yeah, I said this elsewhere but the sticking point was money not compensation. The Twins want to spend as little as possible, and they aren't going to pay two years of Correa's contract(ish) to get rid of him. Mike Sixel 1

Yet he’s been more than solid at AA as a 21 yo. I like both guys for Bader who’s a rental. 3 top 15 guys and a lotto ticket out of a deep Phillies system for Bader and Duran. I think that’s a good crop so far. LA Vikes Fan and SF Twins Fan 2

Fair point, but I would only re-sign Bader to do with him exactly what they've done just now. But if he turns into a pumpkin, like Santana did this year, then they've basically just wasted the year giving him at bats that a rebuilding team should be giving to younger players. Mike Sixel 1

With Villario the Twins are sneakily adding some really good young arms at those lower levels. It will take time but should pay big dividends if they make it. bunsen82 1

If there was a younger player, I'd be with you. But I just don't know who that is with this group and this FO. OTOH, they still have Lopez, Ryan, Ober and maybe Able next year.....

He actually started to hit a bit more, and more than anything a bit more power. Can he continue to trend up on power and become a 15 to 20 HR player. Thats effectively where he needs to be if he will be a hit first corner outfield. He has more stolen bases too at 6. Not thats is massive, but definitely shows he is not a plodder.

Sure, I have no idea. I'm a broken record here, but relying on one ranking site likely isn't a good idea (Fangraphs, MLB, BA, etc.). Looking across them makes more sense to me to get a feel.
