Little League baseball players are taught to swing if the 3rd strike is close.  The Twins do not believe in that philosophy.

It is Minnesota Twins Hitting coach Matt Borgschulte's stink philosophy.

Probably not. You know, all that speed. He's a poor man's Jarvis Brown.

That's the sad part. He's only 83rd percentile in sprint speed and his defense is...pretty good. He was NEVER deserving of a spot, and like someone else just said, him being on the roster to start the season epitomizes the lack of depth on this team and why it was obvious from the start that this team wasn't going anywhere.

After the 2023 season ended, I deluded myself into thinking the Twins had a 3-4 year window where they could contend for the pennant.

The Pohlads are responsible for this. They killed this franchise.

While I largely agree with this, something has to be said about Falvey's fingerprints in this situation.  I still find it hard to believe that he would be given the go-ahead to sign the Correa contract without knowing that the Pohlads wanted to cut down on payroll after the 2023 season.  Absolutely the Pohlads are to blame for coming right out and putting a glacier full of water on the 2023 season by saying that they were going to "right-size" the payroll.  But I would expect these payroll meetings occur multiple times a year and are usually planned out in vague figures multiple years in advance.  I'm obviously not there so I don't know and maybe that says a lot more about how the Pohlads run a business.

Which people?

I was told by multiple people how signing Bader was a waste of resources because DaShawn Keirsey was ready to contribute.

I think those people have given proper mea culpa on that terrible take.

Plus the fact that he's still here!

Can we also trade the stupid Trojan HR helmet to whomever takes one of our position players?

I've been ****ing on that hideous thing from opening day. Adopting a stupid gimmick from the start reeks of desperation to find a club identity. A gimmick is fine, but has to be organic and earned. The backup catcher buying something from Amazon is the exact opposite of that.

I can only speak for myself but I was one of the few who was on your side on the Bader signing. I WILL say I saw one potential downside was Rocco playing him too much, which has proven out. Although I guess you could argue the alternatives haven't earned much playing time

However I dont recall much if any Kiersey support. Then or now.

The vest was perfect actually. Especially against Will Vest

Sucks to be a fan of a team where the vultures are hovering over your squad and you can tell a lot of what is being offered back are the second hand stuff and the scraps. That and an ownership situation that is crap like the A's.

Odd you picked them.. they're a very fun team to root for in 2024. At least our stadium is settled.

The A's are still worse.  They are currently playing in a bad AAA stadium, and the only reason payroll is up because they didn't want to go to court with the MLBPA.  They would have sold off players like Bader and Castro for a Klondike bar just to save a little payroll.

Strong disagree. He's on pace for 450 PAs which is what should always be expected from a 4th OF. Also, he earned more playing time. Had he come out with a 650 OPS, I think Larnach would have been asked to play a lot more in the field.

Eh, it's an off day tomorrow and he's pitched once since Friday.  I can live with this

I'm expecting him to be gone in an hour.

I wish we had the A's hitting roster.

I wouldn't give a Klondike for Keirsey

Oh.  Fair enough.

For whatever reason, I never really expected that he'd be getting moved

Still a lot of uncertainty. All we can do is wait.
