USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Did Lewis see a strike?
insagt1 Verified Member Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 lousy AB for Lewis, Hasn't gotten good swings today. Wasted chance, specially since Margot rarely does anything with runners on and 2 outs. Darn...

That was probably the best we can expect from him. What do you mean on paper, he gave up two runs in 5 innings, that is real results.

He looked like a man with only one low probability thing on his mind. I think he could have easily worked a walk to tie the game. Doctor Gast, USAFChief, RpR and 1 other 4

Twins_Fan_in_NJ Verified Member Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Lou should have been done after 5. Was a bit of Houdini job out there and they paid the price. Mortimerkenny21 and Randy Griffith 2
LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 I thought I was wrong to call for Varland out after 5, but I wasn't. Look, we got 6 innings 3 runs from Varland. That's as good as it gets from him. Not horrible, kept us in the game. I guess it just feels like we have a chance of a much better outing from both Festa and Matthews than we do from Varland.

adjacent Verified Member Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 I bet this is kind of an audition of who stays as a starter and who stays as a long reliever (of Williams and Varland. It looks like the winner is Williams

He gave up 8 hits, two of them should have been outs and 1 walk. I know it is not outstanding, but pitchers will give up hits and when you only give up now 3 runs in 6 innings, you have given your team a chance to win. I am not sure if he should be part of the rotation long term but give him some credit for keeping his team in the game, that is what counts. RpR, SwainZag and Randy Griffith 3
