I know I'm complaining about a 99 MPH fastball, but where did Duran's velo go?

That homer was off a splitter than moved right into Meneses swing, and the single was just good hitting, Duran looked fine and was hitting 101 on the Nats broadcast.

Julien should get Mohawk; any thing is better than what he is wearing.

Know any Barbers in St Paul,   his head is all screwed up, needs a re-set

I've never seen another pitcher that could throw 100+MPH that throws his fastball less.....I don't see him shaking the catcher off, so that's coming from our catchers/dugout.

Obviously Rocco does not know what he is doing

It was a well located pitch, low and in to a righty, Meneses just "lucked" into one...

If a batter gets good wood on a fireball pitcher, a home run is not rare; way back when Suzuki was here, not a power hitter, he got good wood on a Chapman pitch and put it into the middle of he 2nd deck.

Can't remember for sure but I think that guy was a thorn in last year's series for us at Target too.

If MLB Gameday is right at identifying pitches, Duran's gotta be hurt or something is off.  His fastballs today were:

98.9, 98.2, 99.8, 98.1, 97.3, 97.5, 99.9, 100, 100.7, 99.2, 99.1.   That's in reverse order.   His 101 was rounded up (unless I missed a pitch) and he only actually beat 100 twice.  I don't think I'd be concerned if the rest were like 99+, but he had two below 98.   I think that there is some cause for concern and wonder due to the gap (if those pitches are identified correctly).

Of note, his splinker/splitter was down in speed as well, unless he's throwing it differently, in the low-mid 90s.

The Twins broadcast had his 4-seam at 99MPH for almost all of his pitches, then his splinker/splitter at 93. Maybe there was just a discrepancy in the broadcasts. I didn't actually see the HR pitch so I can't speak to that.

On the Nats, is fastball was between 99 and 101 and his splitter 93-95 (mostly at 95), might be I would think both would be getting the same numbers, but who knows.

How convenient. The ball moves into a swing. Like it hunted that bat. Hmmmm. I bet Meneses feels a bit different.
