All true. But the decision to run/not run when a ball gets past the catcher is on the runner.

I'm past that question (without disagreement), and am concerned about Kirilloff's instincts when the decision is his.  Not just this one play either; I expected his transition to 1B to be smoother than it's been.

concur. THe only thing is, as pointed out above, it's possible his view of the ball was blocked.

Lewis had a good start before the owie;  the longest ever hit streak consecutive is 12 at bats.

I wonder what his OPS would be if he duplicated that.

In other news: what could have been a Twins team , Arraez, Gordon , Rooker, Sano, Hicks are all hitless in their first game, with Arraez going 0-5.

2 runs in the 9th (to put the game out of reach for KC's anemic offense) on one ball hit out of the infield.

Single, BB, chopper, WP, BB, Chopper, throwing error, K, FB. Woof.

No clue why KC was a trendy offseason pick to make any amount noise.

Take the W, they all count the same, but this looked a lot like the ugly offensive baseball MN played for a lot of last season; long stretches of nothing, high Ks, and getting bailed out by pitching/a dog**** division.

He made the final out.  Considering his team was behind 8-2 at the moment he came up with the bases empty, I'm a little surprised he didn't hit one out of the park for a meaningless run.

Bitter much? Oh no, not me.

Shulda pinch hit for him.

Holy cow, just looked at the Washington roster. Gallo's batting 5th? Wow that is a really bad lineup. Their #3 and #7 hitters were MiLB deals with spring training invites. I feel like I need to reiterate that their #3 hitter was signed to a non-roster contract, if I say it again, will it make more sense? That's weird right?

Oh My God Wow GIF by The Roku Channel

I didn't even see that part. Washington knows that MLB has a lottery for the first pick right?

Can't win the lotto if you don't buy a ticket.
