mlbtraderumors.com has an item that the Twins have signed 30-year-old right hander Hobie Harris to a minor league deal. Harris got 50-some days on the Nationals roster in 2023, his first major league action. Harris’ stats were pretty poor, but he does have a minor league history with some good results.

Milwaukee may have wasted his one "career year" in 2022 at age 29 by leaving him languishing at AAA despite good numbers all season.  Last year was pretty dismal for him.  It's a long season and he'll get his chances in St Paul, but I hope none of his age-31 innings come at the expense of younger arms with more of a future.

Milwaukee made a wise decision. His BABiP was .203. His walk rate was 13.5%. That BABiP wasn’t going to continue and his walk rate would not work. The ERA looked good but virtually worthless projecting forward in season. I wonder what happened to the strike outs last year. The had been dropping slightly (28.1, 27.9 and then 27.2% in 2022). Last year in AAA it was 15.2% and 9.9% in the majors.

The arm with the 27-28% has some promise as long as the walk rate can drop considerably.

Too bad about Enlow, that was a long run of quasi-prospectiveness*.

Looked like he'd found new life in Wichita, but St. Paul didn't go very well. If he doesn't re-sign here, I'm thinking another team is going to put him in the pen, get good results, and make the Twins wish they'd done so first.

*Yeah, I coined that just now, feel free to use it

Looks like Enlow signed with the Giants as a minor league free agent. I was hoping him and the Twins would take a flyer on each other for another season.

26 year old Jared Solomon signed a minor league deal with the Twins. He had a cup of coffee as a reliever with the Reds in 2022, but his numbers overall, even in the minors, aren't all that pretty yet. My guess is, probably a decent fastball, probably a decent slider, and it appears the walks are pretty out of control (for lack of a better term, but saying your walks are "out of control" is a pretty good term, right?

I'd imagine Bobby Nightengale would know a bit about him, since Solomon spent time with the Reds in the majors and minors for his entire professional career.

Twins sign Caleb Boushley to minor league deal. Had a cup of coffee up with the Brewers at the end of 2023, sounds like he is assigned to AAA St. Paul

See, the first thing I thought of Will Ferrell's commercials he did for Busch Light years ago, so I googled it. I was wrong, they were for Old Milwaukee, but still, that's where my head went.

Just to share, they are funny to me...

This must be the big move Rocco was alluding to.

Oh boy, don't get me started. I listened to the interview he had with Barreiro the other day, and whatever drug cocktail the FO has him on, I want in! He came across as totally lucid and aware, his demeanor was even keeled and even a bit optimistic, as he went on and on how the Twins just keep replacing quality guys with new up and coming quality guys. But whatever they have him on must really skew his judgement of time and space in regards to reality. I don't think I could have gone through the interview saying what he did and kept a straight face.  Like I said, I want some of that!

Maybe we owe each other a coke now? :)

We always played that you had to punch the other guy right on the corner of the shoulder joint where the tendon then, when punched, "sings in agony," and called Pepsi..

I’m too old for that now. How about we just have a good whiskey instead :)

I as well. Going to the physical therapist for shoulder tendinitis even now. Too many punches in the past.

Skol.

Everybody loves a log.

PS. Came here to bemoan losing Bubba Thompson, and got distracted by the gamethread like atmosphere.

Sorry.
