Castro with his third bunt hit this month. Put that in your scouting report, Blue Jays.

Castro can teach rookies/newbies how to bunt next year.

With all the talk of the air in Colorado affecting pitching and hitting, does the dry air in Arizone have a similar effect.

That game has already been canceled by MLB.

Oh, good to know. There might still be seeding implications, but I don’t think any of the teams involved would really complain if it’s cancelled.

So is it an official game then?

No. Phoenix is at about 1100 feet elevation as opposed to 5300. Plus, dry air is more dense than humid air.

No. It's canceled. The seeding will be set by straight winning percentage.

I continue to see everyone say the twins will get shafted on a start time and get the earliest start and I continue to be hopeful.

Marlins at Phillies will get the prime time start which will be the third game.
other than that it’s

HOU at TB

AZ at MIL

TOR at MN

There are about 5 Tampa fans and who the hell cares about AZ and MIL?

Toronto Minnesota combined have more fans than Milwaukee and Arizona.
Also they won’t give an east coast team the latest start which means that Tampa has to be one of the first two games since Philly is likely locked into that third game.

Rays 10, Jays 3.

Stros 6, Snakes 0.

Mariners 1, Rangers 0.

If these scores hold up we get the Jays. If Texas turns the score around we get Houston.

Are you sure? A Toronto loss would give them 89 wins while Texas and Houston would have 90. The only way the Twins get the Astros is if Toronto ties them in wins.

ATL has 1 HR today (#306), but just blew the lead (thanks Michael Tonkin) in the top of the 9th so they'll get at least one more inning to tie the Twins HR record of 307.

Not sure how Stevenson hit any homers in AAA

He slaps at everything

If you put a million monkeys in a room with a million baseball bats and fire a million balls at them, one of them will hit a homer. You don't want to know what will be happening with the other 999,999.

Well I jinxed that one. Ozuna with his 2nd of the day. Damnit.

Wow I know that game was meaningless but zero effort, literally handed the win to the rockies at the end there. Hope that isn't a sign of things to come.

They'd rather get off the field, get on the plane, and get everyone home to rest for workouts tomorrow and a playoff series in 2 days. It looks weird to put a position player in to pitch in a tie game, but in this context it makes sense.

I guess Luplow shouldn’t pitch in the playoffs.

I didn't know you could pitch a position player unless you were like down by 7 or something??  I thought there were some rules made about that?

Like sands through the hourglass, such are the rules of MLB.

Yeah I thought a rule was made recently that a position player had to be declared a pitcher by pitching a certain amount of innings or the game had to be out of hand one or the other, not a 2 - 2 game?  Am I wrong about that? Or was it changed again?

It would be sweet if Kepler could finish the season with a Batting Average .260 or higher.

Small ball so far today; I wonder if this is Luplow's last chance to show if he stays during post season.

Yeah. Like getting picked off at 1st. Only youngsters/rookies make those mistakes. NOT
