  1. That was a bit more stressful than I was wanting. But now let's see them sweep the White Sox in Chicago next week! If you're flirting with being a bottom feeder you've got to beat the snot out of the other bottom feeders,
  2. Noted power hitter, Austin Martin, breaks the Twins' duck!
  3. I don't think I'd disagree with that. Even just defensively, MAT was a high-quality CF and I wouldn't trust Margot out there for a second. And MAT struck out a lot but I'd still prefer to see him coming up in the order than Margot.
  4. I'll give the FO the benefit of the doubt on that part - he wasn't asking what he signed for when they gave up and pivoted elsewhere; he was forced to it because his market shrank (including the Twins giving up on him). But the end result of not paying him nearer his asking price is... Margot and de Sclefani. One is rubbish, the other will never throw a single pitch for the Twins. The result of "saving" a couple of million dollars is literally wasting a few million dollars on de Sclefani, and replacing MAT with an inferior version.
  5. MAT cost a couple of million more than ownership wanted to pay so they invested it in de Sclefani instead.
  6. I liked this but it means I agree with it. I'm not sure at this point anyone would like the idea of another 6 weeks of Santana as a daily first baseman. Except for 29 other major-league teams who are probably quite cheered by the prospect.
  7. That would be good. Because he did look really good in the game when he was up. I guess no matter what we'll be seeing what he puts up in the majors since I can't believe they'll keep Varland in the rotation and leave SWR at St Paul after this outing.
  8. He looked great last week, but he's also got an ERA of 6.08 at St Paul this year. They're going to have to send Varland down and call SWR up, but I'm not entirely enthused by his AAA numbers.
  9. Rogers looks like the desk sergent in a 70s cop show
  10. So. Over/under on Bowman coming in at 2.1 innings
  11. Thank **** for that! You hate to have to scrap to a home win against the Tigers but after the last week I'll definitely take it
  12. Jesus. I've made it through 6.1 innings of this and *still* the Royals are smacking homers
  13. True :) I hit enter about a second before he hit that sac fly
  14. Kirriloff's probably just finding the razors are really expensive these days. If only someone would point him at John and Aaron's codes for Harry's razors he'd be able to get that beard back off again
  15. Absolutely. Correa's so good on a regular basis it's easy to overlook just how good he is
  16. On a different note I can really see why players were complaining about the uniforms. I'm tired of seeing Royals pitchers' boxers through their pants, and I'm sure they feel the same.
  17. Lugo's actually looking pretty good, I'll admit
  18. I'm hoping he's sworn not to shave his beard until he hits his first home run of the year
