In fairness the ump is calling every close low pitch a strike (and not close ones).

Meh, even with hustling he might not make it.  The MAT failed attempt at a bunt in the 9th is looming much larger than that.

To be clear, you're saying that if Julien hustles (which has been pointed out might have just made the out a close play--it was in no way a guaranteed hit), nothing else changes over the course of the next 8 innings?
