Maybe it's just my imagination, but it sure seems like the last few times Maeda's pitched, it's been 90+ degrees and high dew points. It'll be like that in Milwaukee today too. As far as I know, they don't have a/c in that park. I don't know if the roof will be open or closed, but it's still gotta be pretty warm and sticky there. It's 92 degrees with a 79 dew point in Milwaukee right now at noon. Maeda always looks like he's wilting anyway. We need to win this one today and need a good start from him.

This is Japan weather in August ... maybe he'll remember that and acclimate quickly to the workload in this heat

I was watching MLB Network and saw a scroll regarding the Twins bullpen. Since July 25 they rank 2nd to last with a 6+ ERA and opposing hitters have a .866 OPS against them. Not a good sign if the Twins mgmt has a innings or pitch limit for the starters moving forward. 🤔

This is very likely at least part of the reason why they're talking about a 6-man rotation.  Reducing the innings pitched while still allowing them to go a little deeper in games.

Not ideal heading into the playoffs!

I'm as happy for Keuchel as anyone, but I've got my doubts......

I don't disagree at all.  But a 6-man rotation has some merits down the stretch.

And the Wallner move is a real head scratcher. Rocco starts him vs a tough left hander when you know his analytics say to sit him but leave him out vs a righty. I know he's been struggling. For the upcoming responses who will surely point this out

I was surprised to see 7 RHB in the lineup.  This clearly seems to be base on the strong reverse-splits for Burnes.

Here are Burnes' 2023 splits vs RHB & LHB:

Wow! Thanks for that. I am no longer confused at the Wallner decision.

I don't trust reverse splits.

Ever.

And in this case, we're talking about Jordon Luplow.

Wallner better be nursing an injury, IYAM.

If I'm Wallner I'm telling my agent "get me out of here now."  He has to show he can hit lefties.

I mean, I'd prefer Wallner be hitting....agreed. And, agree with the post after yours.....but I also understand the decision making (and the manager can only play the players he has). If only there was a AAA hitter that is absolutely crushing the ball, is a former top prospect in all of baseball that is finally healthy, and plays the OF and was RH......

He has both Luplow and Wallner.

But how would that work exactly? In what world is that an option or even cross someone's mind?
