It’s rare to see two baseball players drop the gloves and square up like boxers on the field. So far it looks like a bizarre situation that is unclear why it happened.

Ramirez wins the fight via TKO in round 1. More to come, obviously.

Only thing I can think of is Jose didn't like that Anderson straddled the bag because he couldn't move to either side of the bag to slide and had to slide right over the plate which looked like it hurt a bit.  Not sure why it got so heated so fast though. I have never seen anything like that and Ramirez is about the last guy I would think of getting into a fight.  Not sure what was said but it really got to Anderson.

Suspensions from this will be interesting as there were several reengagements.

I watched an inning or so previous and there was another tag thing with Anderson trying to push a hand off the base.  Looking back at that crazy replay call from yesterday I’m wondering if that’s what it came from.

"DOWN goes Anderson!  Down goes Anderson!" may be the broadcast call of the year.

Holy cow, love that call.  Baseball on the radio is the best.

Unfortunately, he also points out that this is wildly out of the ordinary for Ramirez. This is just the thing to get Tito’s bloop troop up and running. AL Central will be a race, buckle up boys.

Ramirez took offense to a hard tag but probably a lot of Anderson tag shenanigans previous.

I still can’t figure out what all happened, what started it, and how both managers were ejected along with those who weren’t Anderson and Ramirez

Had to chuckle. MLB.com has no mention of the fight on page 1. Nothing. "Kids, we don't fight."

Always interesting to watch as the bullpen slowly trots in, BP catcher with guards on. Love it.

Tim Anderson stirring up ****? I'm shocked....

It takes two to tango. Whatever was said everyone else certainly played their part

The managers got into it with each other on the mound that started the second part of things.

Not as "weak" as his chin.  He looked out on his feet before hitting the dirt.

He wasn’t knocked out just down. He got up and his teammates had to forcibly remove him from the field. Vaughan literally picked him up and put him in the dugout, the first time. And his teammates had to take him off the field a second time

Yeah. Francona said Gilfol said something to him. To get Francona that irate must’ve been something good

Watch the whole video when he comes back out on the field. He knew what he was doing. I'm not saying Ramirez didn't get in a good one, but as they were heading to the dugout he was fighting it, didn't want to go in, until Vaughan picked him up and put him in there. He was lucid enough to come back out.

Here is the whole video. You can see that Anderson is fighting being pushed off the field. And it was the second time Vaughan just picks him up and takes him down the dugout steps. He might have initially been dazed, but he was fighting, both times, from being pushed off the field by his teammates.

In the end, imo, Anderson was the instigator. He'd already received one warning from the umpire about his jawing at a rookie player for the Guardians. And the other night pushed someone off base with a hard tag, and Ramirez said he'd been making really hard tags on people. That's why you see Jose get up and gesture 'Wtf, man?' (At least that's how I interpreted it.) I don't know what fines or suspensions will get handed out, but I hope Anderson gets the most in both. And I'd really like to know what Grifol said to Francona that triggered Francona. But Francona's response 'Boys will be boys' (in his post game presser) just made me want to throw up a little. Ugh. Poor excuse for grown men letting their emotions run away.

Obviously not out cold but he was clearly dazed. You could see it while he was being forced/helped to the dugout. The dude looked like he didn't know where he was.

See the video I posted. He may have been dazed immediately after but he wanted back in there. You could see it on his face. He was determined. So much so he came out a second time.

And it still takes two to tango. I agree that Anderson was the aggressor, but Ramirez could have walked away. I'm well aware of Anderson's reputation vs Ramirez', still, it takes two. And for the whole melee that followed. Boys will be boys doesn't cut it for me. It's a stupid rationalization.
