The stupid answer would be because we've seen far too many examples of this team's offensive ineptitude this season, even against pitching that probably isn't as good as Tampa's is.

Yup, back then we were dying for good pitching so we could finally contend. Alas, now the tables have turned.

Just popping in to say (as I did last year) that we should have been sellers last season and gone into full rebuild mode in the off-season. But we didn’t and we’ve got barely anything to show for it. No closer to seriously competing. Oh well. Carry on.

I believe the team was above .500 and leading the division at that time, correct?

If so, can you really blame them for not taking this route?
