Small sample size, of course, but Kirilloff is swinging at strikes and not striking out. His only K was that goofy pitch clock violation.

So I looked it up because I don't know if I've ever seen a bunt attempt against Hader.

According to FanGraphs, Hader has one bunt attempt against him since the start of the 2019 season.

Jhoan Duran, in just barely over a season, has four career bunt attempts against him.

It’s probably one of those decisions that makes sense when looking at a huge set of data, but not so much in the moment. That’s the “beauty “ of baseball.
