Nothing out of the ordinary

nope, just another loss to the Yankees, and on our way to 3 more after today.

But an ordinary one?

Not one where we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?

We’re tied for the division in September.  The game is tied in the 6th and we proceed to run out 3 straight guys who shouldn’t be on an MLB roster.

Indefensible.

There's nothing like a good ninth inning rally....

... and that was nothing like a good ninth inning rally.

On top of everything bad luck.  Three narrowly missed HR.  Two by poor cave who now drills one in the ninth caught in the gap.

Megill seems to have given at least one run in every appearance since the All Star break.

Only a slight exaggeration.  He managed to wriggle out of a two-baserunner situation in his most recent game, but the prior 5 outings featured an earned run each time.

My therapist asks me what my main concern in life is.  I told him how upset I get rooting for the Twins.  He kicked me out of his office, and said he doesn't work on 'lost causes'.  He told me to root for the A's or Marlins.

Erp. That's what I get for replying before I read the whole thread.

Well, I did set up the joke for someone else to deliver the punchline, then I chickened out and was afraid no one would.

It was my error. When telling a joke there's nothing like good timing. And that was nothing like good timing.

I wouldn't bet against it playing out that way.

Protip:

Posting a reply is a way to get to the end of a thread almost as quickly as the >> button, only better 'cause it goes to the last post, which you already know what it says, so you can start reading the thread backwards.

It is more entertaining that way. But it helps to have a few universally applicable silly-gisms, like "what i miss? or "did we win yet?" If this were a Red Sox site, one could also virtue signal by disparaging that one New York team. I suppose one could do that anyway, it is just less superfluous when we are actually playing them.

Well... maybe it was more of amateur tip.

Anyone who gives up a HR to IKF should just end their career right there

IKF hit one off of Verlander 7/28/18.  (I spent way too much time looking that up.)
