Hold on, they actually pulled Verlander? Everyone here gives the Twins so much grief over this, even when the one time they had a chance at a no-hitter they gave Maeda every chance to do it... and now this year we've seen both Kershaw and Verlander yanked early in a no-hitter situation.

My friend said, “You know what I like? Home runs and triple plays.” I was like, “Dude, you gotta give me time to guess.”

Rice is great if you’re really hungry and want to eat 2,000 of something

Just because another team also does it, doesn’t mean it’s not stupid

Hurting you is the last thing I'd ever want to do.  However, and this is the important part, it is on the list.

Gonna have to push back on the idea that getting a CY season from a 39 year old indicates they're handling him stupidly.

I am not pro-smoking, but some of those animals look kind of cool.  That duck might be convincing me to start smoking.

I just meant that he had essentially a perfect game going and got yanked at 90ish pitches.

twins could have had 12 innings and wouldn’t have gotten a hit off of him

I used to get sad remembering the day Mitch Hedberg died.   I still do, but I used to, too.

There is no comparison between Gordon & Cave. Some players make difficult catches look easy others make easy catches look difficult. Sometimes the eye test fools some people so a player makes a quite competent catch shouldn't qualify them to play a position in CF.

Gordons flailing does?

LOL, LOL, LOL

I just grabbed dinner here in suburban Houston.  Peaceful night, no breeze whatsoever. Weather radar has picked up a discernible breeze for the past two hours, however, at or near home plate at Minute Maid Park.

You live near Houston?  Your airport lost my luggage for two days, last weekend.  Thanks for nothing.

Again, he's 39. Coming off TJS. Now has 149 IP and in line for his 16th W. They're not looking at a W against the Twins in August as critical. They'd like him fresh in October.

I'd be pretty happy if we could get Houston's results on the mound. I don't think they're stupid, nor do I think removing Verlander tonight was stupid.

It’s not the win, it’s the chance at a FOURTH no hitter.

We won’t get the results that Houston has on the mound any time soon and it has zero to do with inning or pitch counts.

Seems to be intermittent.

Bush (Intercontinental) or Hobby?  We have two commercial airports where you can go stir crazy over missing suitcases.

Yes, I live about 30 minutes' drive from downtown.  A week ago I was considering buying a ticket for a Twins game.  A week is a long time.

The Far Side, Bloom County, and Calvin and Hobbes might have created some procrastination study breaks in college.  In retrospect, I might not have always wisely used my time.

Good lord what? From the home plate camera it looked like the batted ball, AND the flying bat, hit the pitcher

hope he’s ok

Just the ball
