Can the Twins just stop playing until the trade deadline?

I wish they could, but unless they can come up with an excuse to skip the next 3 games they unfortunately will still need to play before the deadline

Someone let Falvine know it's legal to trade PRIOR to the last hour before the deadline.

Agree 100%, but the problem is...the teams that have the pitchers that we're rumored to be interested in, or want, are going to wait until close to the deadline to get the best return. Basically, they're going to play all the interested teams off of one another in a game of high bidder gets the goods. I wouldn't be shocked if we came up holding the bag and miss the better pitchers out there. We'll end up with option C or D. I sure hope I'm wrong.

Somebody is going to get the good relievers. The Twins can get them or face them.

There is some irony in the Yankees getting Benintendi for extra guys while Twins fans are filled with angst because of a fear their farm system could be decimated.

Always makes it more stressful to wait till the deadline, but I suspect it's often the case multiple teams are making offers on the same players and the team trading assets away is looking for the very best offer they can get.

Since it's going to take the best offer, make it now and get more from the player.

The problem is, selling teams don't know which offer is the best unless they wait out until the very end to receive all of the offers.

Unless there are more sellers than buyers, in which case a team could get severely burned for holding on to their assets, there is no harm in selling teams holding on to their assets until the deadline. The only risk they have is their player getting injured.

The starting rotation has been pitching like the relievers ever since the bullpen coach got promoted to pitching coach.

Can we find a new one of those before the deadline?

Check out the subliminal messaging in the bottom right corner of that GIF.

Castillo to the Mariners for their first, third, fifth, and a mid-teens prospect.  That would (I think) be like Lewis, Emmanuel Rodriguez, Canterino, and Gibson-Long?  Worth it for a couple extra regular season wins and one playoff win?  Not to me.
