Probably not. If it’s a three-run game, it will be a save, since the tying run is on deck when then inning starts. If it’s a four-run game, I don’t think you deserve a save coming in with just a runner on second.

One can argue that identical work yields differing results. If you blow it, do you deserve a blown save? And at the least, it is inelegant if the special 3 run 1 inning case is covered by the other situation.

 

Meh. It is book keeping at this point though , so not really that important.
