No. Kepler had a chance for the catch, especially with it being Gordon instead of Buxton.

Absolutely no problem with him starting the inning. Probably would have yanked him after the second homer but no problem with him being out there to start the 7th in a 6 run game. Still a 4 run lead with a man on and 9 outs to get. Even a bad bullpen like ours should be able to handle that. Should

You are correct. I would have to assume that Kepler saw how deep the ball was hit and assumed Gordon would catch it (Gordon was well in front of the wall and the ball did not hit very high on the wall). The ball then caromed back towards center field and it take Kepler a moment to get to it. Bad OF defense all theway around on that play.
