What if had been fair and the the bat knocked it foul? Does it matter that he threw the bat rather than it being a broken bat? Seems like it could almost be interference of some kind. Does the rulebook have answers for these questions?

Part of the Nelson Cruz trade to even it out a bit. Never put together very good numbers in the minors but the Rays seem to really like him. We can see that he throws hard but that's not really everything anymore.
