I'm pretty sure as soon as the ball hit him it was a dead ball, so he couldn't go to first.

Apparently you can't run to first if you struck out and the ball hits you. The ump rung him up, no point in running once that happens.

Another Buxton homer and another close game, which translates to a probable Twins loss.

It just seems that every  time he hits multiple homers or a monster shot in a game, it goes for naught in a Twin's loss.

I didn’t know that. Kind of doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t count as a HBP because you swung but it’s dead because it was a HBP
