What if I wait too long and it turns into vinegar?

Then you can use it for cleaning

I dunno.  I think he's pretty brave.

Who could've predicted, that our starting pitching would be this decent? Hopefully, this doesn't jinx it, but all of a sudden, we've got a pretty solid starting staff. Mainly young guys too. Ryan, Ober, Paddack...Winder has been good in relief and he looks good today too. I think I'd keep him in the rotation. Add in the vets we picked up, who've also done fine, and that's even without Gray out there. They have to go to 14 pitchers by tomorrow too.

I'm trying to figure out if that thing around Byron's neck is fancy bling or something his son got him at Spencer Gifts.

14 on the active roster now.

Part of it is having the depth to step in. I mean, some of us wasn’t even sure Winder would or should be on the team, but he’s doing it

Omg, I just love watching Correa in the field … LOVE IT

This chick digs the good defensive plays.

Depth is key. When's the last time we could say that? Usually, we're scraping the barrel to find an arm or two that we could throw out there.

And sometimes depth isn’t enough no matter what in a really bad year full of injuries, but wow … what a difference between this and other seasons, both in pitching and fielders

and yes, I know it’s early, so this isn’t a jinx

Slow your roll, Squirrel. Wasn’t it ten days ago we were deciding when to throw up the white flag? Actually, I totally agree, but don’t want to jinx it.

I was editing when you quoted … yup … it’s early, I recognize it, so not a jinx ?

Winder's doing a great job. This umpire has a fairly big zone and he's taking advantage of it, but you don't get those calls unless you're also throwing a lot of pitching in and around the zone. He's generating swings and misses as well and looks very composed and confident out there. He's had a few balls hit hard, so there's a little luck in here, but he's also done a good job of pitching around trouble. Very encouraging work so far from a young pitcher. He's looking like a guy who belongs. Would not be opposed to seeing him get the 6th if he's feeling good.

Me too.

Watching Carlos is like watching Buck: A ball gets hit in their general direction and you don't hold your breath at all because you already know it's basically an automatic out.

Wonder if that's it for Winder. Hell of a performance. I was skeptical starting him against the Rays and not against Baltimore, but it's worked out thus far. 4 really good pitches. Great command, good velo, good movement. This team has 6 good starters as of now, along with Bundy and Kenta eventually who may be good as well.

I'd keep Winder in the rotation - at least over Archer. I think Archer is better off in the pen, as he seems to get fatigued faster. This is a positive development, young pitching thriving in the majors! Finally!
