Rosterman Verified Member Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 So, looks like Buxton did not make Round Two and will miss being named a starter for the 2021 All-Star team. Of course, we know he wouldn't start, because he was injured. Mike Trout, however, has been named to the team. By some fluke, he MIGHT make an appearance as he is scheduled to be doing minor league rehab appearances during that week. Will see. So now the BIG QUESTION? Who represents the Minnesota Twins? How could Nelson Cruz not be named! Will Jose Berrios be one of the pitching staff?
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 Nelson Cruz would be the most deserving to represent the team, as long as he’s not traded in the next 13 days! It’s always easy to sneak in a reliever when there’s only 1 selection for the team, so I’ll say Rogers could be the one too.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 Rogers or Berrios are the most deserving regardless. Crazy thing, given the title, Trout was on the 60 day IL and still will have more PAs by the All-Star break than Buxton.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 Cruz could deserve a spot, though Ohtani is winning the DH spot if he isn't considered a pitcher. JD Martinez is pretty close to Cruz's numbers, too. Rogers probably gets the spot over Berrios. Jose is having a decent year, but compared to other starters in the AL, it's really nothing special. Rogers' ERA and FIP are over 1.00 less, and also has a 164 ERA+ compared to Jose's 117.
TwinsDr2021 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 Can we send Rocco, maybe he could pick up some tips on how to manage better?

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 Could be Rogers, could be Berrios, could be one of the younger guys, or could be someone who hasn’t been called up yet
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 Remind me... Fans vote for starters, players for replacements? And is it last world series managers who manage and select pitchers?

I believe it is players 50% and managers/front office 50% for one backup at each position (3 OF) and the manager and league figure out the rest of the reserves based on needing 1 rep from each team.
mikelink45 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 Why do we want to be represented?
