GAME THREAD 4/13/2021: Twins vs. Red Sox, 1:10 CDT

[USAFChief]

poop.

[Danchat]

Rocco, what happened to pulling your starters early? Why do Happ and Shokemaker get this much rope?

[hybridbear]

Once again Rocco leaves his starter in there too long

[nicksaviking]

Believe it or not, that's what Happ prefers

Interesting. Seems like something I would have previously known.

What a doofus though, sounds like something only a hick from ......(checks the internet)...... Wait, he went to Northwestern!?!?!

[USAFChief]

Unless I missed one, Happ finished with 4 swings and misses.

[Puckett34]

Happ is like the LeRoy Hoard of starting pitchers.

With LeRoy if you needed him to get 3 yards, he'll get you 3 yards. If you need him to get 4 yards, he'll get 3 yards.

Same with Happ, need him to get 4 2/3 innings, he'll get you 4 2/3 innings. If you need him to get 7 innings, he'll get you 4 2/3 innings.

Blame it on the "blood thinners".

[Cap'n Piranha]

Good thinking. It’s important to be proactive in these situations.

I’m still 2.5 weeks out from my second Moderna shot. I can’t wait to be done with this crap.

Umm, don't get too excited.  There's a non-zero chance you'll need to do this every 6 months.

Is Dick calling him Jay Happ?

That is his name...

[Doctor Gast]

Why doesn't Baldelli know when to pull his starters?!

[USAFChief]

Stashak topping out at 88-89....yeesh.

[cHawk]

Could Rocco be the next BOB?

[hybridbear]

BOB?

[jun]

Just like Happ.

[Cap'n Piranha]

You missed a lot.  As previously stated, every time a hitter fouls a pitch off with zero or one strikes, it is a swinging strike.

You erred by only counting swings and misses.

[cHawk]

BOB?

Bill O'Brien. Former Houston Texans head coach.

Once, when we needed Hoard to get 37 yards, he got us 52:

Bill O'Brien. Former Houston Texans head coach.

I think Rocco is much more likely to be the reverse Bill O'Brien.  O'Brien was a really good coach, who was terrible at building a team.  The current Twins are pretty good at team building, but just terrible in game situations.

Rocco is going to take over the GM position, and then trade Buxton away for peanuts?!

[USAFChief]

IT'S MARTIN PEREZ, FFS!

[cHawk]

Please no.

So Mike McCarthy?

When I say “this crap”, I mean the pandemic itself.

[cHawk]

3-2 pitch...close my eyes

que?

[cHawk]

Here comes the Fool's Gold

[Cap'n Piranha]

Well, based on what was just shown on BSN, I think it's now very clear whether or not the Twins are taking a political stance on the events of Sunday.

[jun]

Batting practice time for Boston?

I agree. The Twins are terrible in game situations under Baldelli.
