On the bright side, the Yanks only have 4 more years of Hick's 60-games per year track.

Trevor Hildenberger claimed by Giants. Sean Poppen traded by Pirates to the Rays. And Wilfredo Tovar, who was a journeyman minor league free agent at Rochester for a couple of years, returns to the majors with The Mets!

Anthony Swarzak is back with the Royals and getting time at AAA before a potential recall. 

 

I guess I hadn't been paying attention, but since he left the Twins after a five year stint ending in 2014, he has been with the Indians, Mets, White Sox, Brewers, Yankees, Mariners and Diamondbacks. 

 

Giving former Twin Terry Mulholland a run for most teams played for.

I miss Mulholland.  Not many players get to pitch for 13 years after their peak.

Danny Santana homered in his first game as a Red Sox. Also, old friend Martín Pérez now has a 2-2 record and 3.55 ERA in 45+ innings for Boston.

Kyle Gibson looks like he will improve 4-0 with a 2.24 ERA for the Rangers. The Rangers should have a worse record than the Twins, but Gibson has been stellar since Opening Day. It's early yet, but Kyle might represent the team in the All-Star game.

I looked in the "other baseball 2021" thread a couple days ago and was a little surprised that Huascar Ynoa's incident hadn't made it to be posted there, but now I see it's here. I never like to see injuries, but I also always wonder why players flirt with injury doing things like punching a bench, even in the heat of the moment.

The MLBTR front page was half ex-Twins transactions yesterday.

Yelling and/or punching things never feels as satisfying as one thinks it will.

Travis Blankenhorn claimed by Mariners from Dodgers. On the 40-man. Hopefully can see some major league time in Seattle. Otherwise, come off-season and if he is a minor league free agent, I would welcome a return to the Twins organization.

 

Like did anyone notice that Jermaine Palacios, who we traded to the Rays for Jake Odorizzi, is now back in the Twins organization at AA ball?

I can't imagine Ervin has much time left, but dang, I did not see his MPH on his fastball coming back. Darn finger surgery, or whatever the issue was really sidetracked his career after having a great 2017 season.

If I remember right he did make a handful of appearances in Spring training.

 

Hector Santiago had his contract selected by the Mariners today.
